I dont know if u guys are joking or not but the only people who can be divine is people high ranked in the chantry but i would have picked Mother Giselle but seeing that leli and cassandra would be better because they are the right and left hands of the Divine.

Cassandra, hands down.  If I didn't have to do a rather specific set of requirements, I'd pick her.  The reqs make sense and I understand why they are there.  Still, as a player and on my first character (my beloved dwarf rogue,) she aligned with my views the most.

I'd ressurect the corspe of Wynne or Grand Mother Elthina.  :P  I do wonder how good Knight Captain Evangeline would be in the role?

I was kinda hoping there was an option to let the chantry fall apart.

How about the Box? Being a Divine could be part of its community service.  :D

Easy. Make the college operate like circle only with more freedom. Make some clerics pointy eared. Done.

How convenient.

Oh well.

In any case, I'd say half of the people's Inquisitors now are ripe to be worse than Lambert ever was. It's so hypocritical, given our role in this game. I'll be glad when it's over.

Things went south but I'm not really interested in what people on BSN think about Justinia. There is not a single person in Thedas that doesn't venerate her. She was what Thedas needed but circumstance didn't allow her to act.

And about Lambert, Cole has never been wrong about reading people and he says Lambert had no guilt when he cut Evangeline down, nor when he killed others. He liked hurting mages. He is almost mustache twirling villain type.

Mother Giselle was my immediate choice because she is reasonable, kind-hearted, and willing to compromise; however that compromising nature is why she would ultimately fail.  Any good leader needs to have a clear vision and a willingness to bring it to fruition (which requires politicking and maneuvering and perhaps even some nefarious acts).  1st playthrough I went with Cass not only because her vision seemed reasonably attainable, but also because I thought Leliana's (softened) was too idealistic and naive.  I accidently put Vivienne on the Sun Throne second time around (not even clear what the conditions are for doing so) with awful repercussions.  Then did Leliana to see how Thedas would be impacted and was surprised she actually succeeded.  Of course, there's no such thing as happily (or miserably) ever after...and given enough time even the best laid foundation decays.  The more interesting aspect of these choices/preferences is what they say about we the players as people.  I thought Leliana's vision was a beautiful one but went with Cassandra because I thought it represented the right balance of compromise that "could" succeed.  My own pessimism doomed Thedas to a less "idyllic" future.  Damn you Machiavelli!

Cassandra specifically says that the Divine does not have to be a member of the Chantry.  It's unusual, yes, but not without precedent.

They should've put more of this in the book then. I'm not disputing it.. it's just taking me aback. His motivations in the book seemed much more complex. His best friend was a mage --- the Black Divine. He was a moderate in Tevinter. but felt betrayed when his friend resorted to blood magic. He moved South and abandoned their Chantry. It makes it sound like he had good intentions. Just that he got out of control in the end.

Now he's just cardboard cutout mustache twirling. That kind of stinks.. if only because I prefer complexity more. Making characters so black (Lambert) and white (Justinia) isn't very interesting.

I believe Leliana if you don't do her Quest does a good start on that

With Stens voice:"No."

Mother Giselle/Guinan is so freaking annoying... I got Lelianna as Divine (for RP-reasons, Inquisitor didn't care (Dalish Ranger)). Possible to get Inquisitor as Divine?

I choose Leliana Always . while Ive got respect for Cass and her view...I think she is better off as Seeker and will do more good rebuilding and seeking the maker in her own way then sitting on a throne .

Mother Giselle....reek someone with an agenda . All her view and her claim and stuff . No way I put that lady there..especially since..if ya play no-humans there are stuff she wont tell ya . And anyone who want me to hide some truth get a dissaproval !

Leliana makes sense on the Sunburst throne she definitely will bring about change and is smart and savvy enough to keep her throne. Anyone on that throne has a target painted on their back though.

I like Mother Gissele, I didn't really see much of an agenda with her as she always seemed supportive of both my elf and human inquisitors. I haven't played a dwarf or qunari yet. When asked about chantry history she definitely gives the impression she would embrace changes for example the reason of only having a female divine. When prodded why she hasn't fought back against choices like these she says something along the lines of that in the state of the world now it is not a battle worth fighting for yet so she lends her help to the refugees and the hurt.

As Mother Gissele would tell you, "Your glib tongue does you no good!" lol

I haven't completely went against her conversation-wise so maybe I'm not seeing the more aggressive/defensive side of her. Plus, she got people to sing for me, treats me like a God.
