I'm finding absolutely no gauntlets or boots...

Hey guys, I'm on my second playthrough about 40 hours in and I've YET to find a single boot or gauntlet upgrade for any armor set. It's really annoying honestly, not a fan of Bioware removing them as basic armor parts in the first place(Still don't understand why they did it, no one was asking for boots and gauntlets to be changed) but now it's like having proper boots and gauntlets are a rarity in Thedas. I can't find anything anywhere.

Is there some place I can farm them or a console command I could add them in with? I mean I just want some boots and gauntlets, seriously.

Nope.  There  are no such components in the game.  Can't "add" 'em, 'cuz there's no mechanism to employ 'em.

Well, there aren't boots and guantlets in the game...

There are "arms" and "legs" for your armor.  You should find specs for them in loot chests from time to time, and you can buy the specs too.  You need to craft them, as they all increase your stats in one way or another.  Keep in mind that not all armor can be augmented though.

If you do the Fallow Mire to save the soldiers, there are some in the room with the prisoners (guaranteed). I believe they are superior vanguard gaunts/boots.

You are better off just farming schematics though....

At the very first crafting station in heaven, you are given a set of arms and it is part of the quest to upgrade your armor using them.

EDIT: also you can remove arms and legs from looted armor.

Yeah, "arms and legs", no "gauntlets or boots".

Crafting. It's so awesome that things need to be removed from the game in order to force the player to use it.

Yeah, "arms and legs", no "gauntlets or boots".

It's the exact same thing and you know what I meant. I call them by their proper names, which have a more specific and accurate meaning than DAI's vague 'Arm' and 'Leg' titles.

I'm not new to the game, I know how it works. I'm asking if there's an easy way to farm them or definite places to find them.

Yeah I've been there, not this playthrough though. Still, I'm looking for more than just one thing. What would you say is the best place to farm?

Upgrades aren't part of the random treasure pool, so you'll almost never find them out in the field.

If you do want upgrades, you can try farming equipment (rare equipment seems to have a better chance, but even normal equipment can spawn with upgrades) for whatever upgrade type you want, but it's probably not going to be all that fruitful. Note that you should always be checking the loot you find (I think a lot of people just sell stuff without realizing it could have upgrades that can be removed and used on your own gear).

It seems you're mostly expected to craft upgrades, not find them.

Crafting is part of the game. You're not "forced" to use it any more than you are forced to do anything else. It's like complaining about having to walk to places.

The best looted equipment is already slotted anyway. Did you really need three different boots that have 0.2 different armor rating like in DAO?

Nothing has been removed. The equipment has been reworked into a much better system of modification that allows customization that was barely allowed in DAI's predecessors.

1) the only way you're not forced to craft is if you don't mind wearing garbage.

2) the best looted gear is crap and so are the "Upgrades." If you happen to want good upgrades you have to craft.

3) oh ya nothing removed except gloves and boots being lootable and equipable.

Loot in general is quite underwhelming in this game. More often than not, you're better off buying schematics and crafting your own items out of them. It pays off much better in the long run.

The boots/gauntlet parts of the armour mostly come as either purchases from the vendors, or crafted items. Every now and then the armour pieces you loot will have such upgrades already attached, too. You can then remove them manually and attach to your own armour sets, if you wish so.

The problem is that you can only add/change arms and legs on Inquisitor Armor like the Vanguard armor which sucks to not be able to adjust the cool looking armor for better stats..

The other armours are just high resolution versions of DA2 armors. They're not modular in the same way.
