Like... advancement maybe in whatever they are calling the N7 ranking?
Or are you just as likely to get a level 20 unique awesomesauce in your first chest as any other?

all RNG my friend.
when I first started playing I went for large chests. didn't seem to get much goodies so I switched to medium chests. seemed to have some good luck with those for a while.
recently I decided to try large chests. did 2x $30Kgold (25 large chests per session) openings recently and received some pretty nice purp weapons. between these sessions I now have 4 purp daggers, Griffon bow, and "Death..something" staff (lvl 16).
so yeah... RNG
Edit: Noting that I play Threatening for the most part to build up gold and XP.
It doesn't make any difference. RNG remains the same as you increase your Prestige. You simply will be playing more Threatening at a certain point, saving more gold and buying more packs, thus rolling the dice more often, but your chances don't change.
...and SpaceV3gan makes an excellent point. I play mostly Threatening which yields more XP and gold.
No. It's all RNG. Anything else is theorycraft / superstition.
Gold earned / xp goes up with difficulty but that's it.
I got my most treasured weapon, the Caliban, when my Prestige was about 100 (maybe less) and I had not promoted any character beforehand.
Between Prestige 130 to 200 I got most of my high level Purple cards, including several accessories. Since then I have been going through a dry streak, on which all purple items I've come across were either garbage or repeated ones.
I am now Prestige 277, but I can't complain about my dry streak. I know people whose Prestige is over 300 who don't have the luxury of walking around with two Blades of Red Birth and a Superb Ring of Life-Drain.
So higher Prestige is a not a factor. Promotion is a not factor. It is all pure effing luck.

Funny, but I first read that, I thought you were complaining about your dry steak, and thus wondered when you started eating meat. Or, if it was the "ham" they serve back in camp?

Funn you should say that. One day my mind read "kill streak" as "kill steak", so I chuckle to myself while building up the "kill steaks". ![]()
