I saw 'clamfest' used at some point :/ I think I prefer 'melonfest' though, I'm not a big fan of seafood.

I sure as hell am, but I'm from the south... Hmm... south... seafood...

This explains so much about me, dunnit, @Mantis? LOL

From experience, it seems if women/LGBT people are treated well/fairly then thats when its too unrealistic for the land of darkspawn & dragons

Yeah, it's a bit sad that a world with magic and dragons is far easier for this type of person to swallow than a world where women and LGBT people aren't constantly kicked in the head. Any argument saying that every fantasy world inspired from the middle ages from our world must perfectly represent the social inequalities of that time - even when that world's history is completely different from our own - is, to put it bluntly, absurd.

I grew up on the seaside. I was forced to eat jellied eels. If the desired effect was to put me completely off seafood it succeeded admirably, though I still love fish.

I'm a red meat girl through and through though.

I wanna make a joke, but I think I'd be taking the analogy too far and possibly ruin red meat and seafood (even more) for you, so instead, I'm going to try and act my age and just leave it as that's what I like to hear, and ain't nuthin better than a good old steak! Medium Rare or gtfo, lol.

Oh, and thread is dumb. It's a fantasy game, so let teh bitches stay. Witcher has the damn sorceresses having major political influence throughout the story, and that's one of the most "realistic" game series I've ever played. These are fictional societies. They don't have to stick to our rigid sense of "realistic", thankfully. Now, I do appreciate some realism, which is why things like racism and warcrimes etc is pretty much a necessity to me in any setting, but this? This is in a society where the holiest person ever to exist was a woman, and all the head chantry individuals are women. Women have major influence in Thedas, and people who don't realize this haven't been paying attention to the games.

"It's traditional" excuses a great number of crazy food choices  we took my partners grandad out for a chinese meal last year and first he called the seaweed watercress, then once he'd finished eating it he asked the waiter for "another bowl of that grass"

Let's see I am laughing here since mostly, I found this to be refreshing since it reflected a lot of the historically accurate stories that came out of the Middle Ages of the time like I can name off several woman leaders and warriors of the time Queen Elizabeth 1, Joan of the Arc a woman warrior. In China, stories about a woman named Mulan who became high general to the king and hid as a man for a time because it was forbidden for woman to join the miltary. This changed the station of woman after this person was found out in the Chinese military of course. And no not the Disney version she actually existed ;)

... I'm really bad, I keep wanting to post that Trololo song thousands of time on this thread & act like a kid. Should I be ashamed on myself?

Since what I understand from OP's post, he complains on not "how many women in the game" but "how many women are on powerful positions in the game", which I take he won't say anything if there's many women but only eye candies.

Sorry, I had to fix that for you.  I don't want all straight/bi men to be thrown under the same blanket as the OP.   Plenty of guys that I know are straight have been posting and mocking the idea as well.   :)

It is sad, dragons & demons are ok, women in tight outfits that exit just to be the male hero's Li is ok but strong women who lead organisations or having more then 1 or 2 gay characters is "unrealistic pandering"

I didn't even notice. Add that to the fact that I didn't notice that there weren't any kids in this game and I think I may need to get tested for people blindness.

Were Cullen, Solas, Varric and Roderick all actually woman? Did I miss that?

When Lord Seeker Lucius showed up with Ser Barris in Val Royeaux, were they also woman?

Was Alexius a woman as well!?

Damn, imma need to restart this game. I fear I missed out.
