And I still don't think that Marric's a bad king either.
Maric is pretty awesome ^^

There was an other thread like this in some other part of BSN that brought up some good points. The DA a series has the best representation of women but the worst in men.
You guys argue that there are so many men so here is a list of them. King Cailan an incompetent, Alistair the incompetent king and companion, Loghain the treacherous regicide, Zevran the murder, Sten the murder, Oghren the drunken sexist, Anders the abomination terrorist, Fenris the angsty guy who literally crushes people hearts, Verric the compulsive liar.
And now in Inquisition the female representation is much better with Cass, Josephine, The Divine and the new one, Calpernia the former slave who is now the leader of the Venatori with a heart of gold and good intentions, Celene the reasonable ruler of Orlais, Clarel leader of the wardens who was manipulated.
And on the opposite side Blackwall the liar and murderer, Solas the liar, Iron Bull the guy who is not above killing his friends, Cullen the pretty addict, Samson the power hungry murderer, Gaspard the power hungry traitor, Erimond the *******. And a man controls the Tevinter Imperium.
Look it's pretty awesome that female have a better role in DA. But mens role will always just be the worst type of people in video games. ( yay )
These are all your opinions based on how you see these characters. A few stuck out:
How is Alistair an incompetent companion?
Zevran may be an assassin but you make him sound like he's a psycho killer - he is nothing more than a product of his upbringing as a slave.
How is Celene a reasonable ruler? I always go with Gaspard...
Clarel is not really someone I would list as a paragon of womankind everywhere
Cullen is not just a "pretty addict" - his addiction was borne out of his want and need to help others. He struggles with it and manages to keep to his heart and nobility. Out of all DA men I would say his is one of the strongest stories (if not the strongest) of one man overcoming adversity.
That sounds messy and delicious. Like so many things in life.
Maric is pretty awesome ^^
He is. He might be painted on the "whiny" side on the whole 2 books, but the thing is, he did do a very good job reuniting Ferelden & rebuilding the country. And then we'll be back to ThreeF's post, about how society want men to be stoic all the time? Gaider wrote him on his point of view, nearly on the "first person". He might not be the most stoic guy in his own mind or on some reader's POV. But is he really that whiny/incompetent? He made the hard decisions. He continued even if it seems impossible, for years. He seemed to have a gentle heart.
And he did succeed in reuniting the country, in rebuilding.
Say, which part of this makes him a bad king?

Huahahahaha! Furry death.

Why this, now i can't choose. Can i haz both? ![]()
See whenever I go to the game store by myself I always get the "OMG your man is one lucky guy" comments, like I'm every "nerd's" wet dream...
BTW, I use the term "nerd" in an endearing way, as I am in fact a nerd...
And yet again the BSN fails to surprise me.
What was the point of this thread again? Oh right too many females or something as silly.
It's impossible to have too many females. Unless you're female than that could be a problem I suppose. I mean what guy in their right mind wouldn't want to be surrounded by females? I know I wouldn't complain (much) ![]()
I play female PC's most of the time so there's always more females in my games. Not that I mind.
I don't really understand that reasoning anway. I once had a girlfriend who was a gamer.
It was awful. Struggles for who was gonna use the PC. Struggles for who was gonna play the PS3, because of course, you wanted to play those things seperatly at the same time.
And then she just had to play a multiplayer game with me while I just wanted to build empires in Civilization.
Never again!
I have the same problem with my dad though. Always taking over my PS3 with his obsession with Borderlands ![]()
I tried to read through this from where I left off last night, but holy crap this thing has moved fast. I've learned so much about making cupcakes and homebrewing beer.
Why does the game have so many females, specially at the beginning. I created a female character and then just right after the opening cinematic I had to deal with two other women (Cassandra and Liliana) and no male character at all. There were also mentions of Justinia (deceased leader of Chantry) and she was also female.
It felt like a complete female-fest or something.
So I deleted my female character and created a male character.
Just thought I should share this fact , as it did bother me a lot to see females in the decision making position and no males at all. Not sure what was bioware's fascination with putting females in every place of power, at the beginning of the game. I haven't the played the game past the opening mission, so I don't know what awaits me next.
But from what I have seen so far, seriously discouraged me from playing a female character, as I want my game worlds to be balanced among genders.
By chance were you wearing a Fedora and a Mens Rights Activists T-Shirt when making this post? ![]()

I got my pc specifically for skyrim mods... and then dragon age inquisition came out and surprised the hell out of me and I haven't touched another game yet since, besides a few hours of farcry 4, lol.
But I will eventually, and will look for this too, thank you for the recommendation ![]()

If only i had a gf like yours.
Would prefer fights over games than "what are games".
At least i wouldn't feel like i'm ignoring her. ![]()

I can give you a good cookie recipe... And many version of Trololo songs.
The thing is that I find OP's and several other people's POV of "Oh no DA has too many powerful females" highly disturbing since some of them are ranting because "female characters in DA:I have too much power, and male characters are weak" which are not the whole case, and even if it's right, so what? General fantasy media & most games do the contrary already. I find it highly disturbing that some people may think to have one game where female characters may have more "power" than male characters is Not Acceptable.

Worth checking too if you're making a Khajiit for Moonpath of Elseweyr: Khajiit speak (this mod accomodates all vanilla & official extensions & moonpath to elseweyr & some major unofficial expansion), Khajiit marriage & kittens (if building a house full of cats is your thing).
Another thing that might come out this year: Enderal
Seems promising.

That's when you build a bigger and better PC for yourself.
