I always associate cheese with Orlais, especially the stinky kind.
Now I want cheesecake!

Blueberry Cheesecake. That's awesome.

If you are in an area where you can get Dale's Seasoning, it's delicious as a marinade for almost any meat, but especially steak and venison. It's also probably insta heart attack inducing - but so good.
Blueberry Cheesecake. That's awesome.

Yes! Wait....baked or non-baked? And yes, this is a test.

Yum!!!
Pound cake?
No, I don't think so. It's denser, more buttery. Doesn't rise. Here's a page with pictures:

Wow... i'll try to make this next time maybe
thanks for the idea!
Lemon meringue pie! Not your cake, Spirit, but I saw some in the link and now I want that too. ![]()

I can't bake, but yeah baked.

I love making that. One recipe that I got put a hard meringue under the lemony "custard" or whatever you call it in English. And somehow it's better tasting than just putting the meringue on top. I wonder why.
Gosh I'm really in a baking mood.

Good boy, Bats! You passed! There just may be hope for our continuing friendship yet. ![]()

Gah, same! I have decided on either cheesecake or lemon meringue. It is only half 10 in the morning for me so I have plenty of time. So excited for dessert tonight! I don't think I have had dessert since well......Christmas.
Yeah, I forgot Christmas happened recently but I don't usually eat desserts.
So my earlier guess of making it to 50 pages is starting to sound pretty reasonable...

Sorry Boom, it's been 2 weeks. It's a looong time without desert ![]()
Although, my BF baked some Kouign Amann for Christmas so we didn't want any desert for the rest of 2014... So I can see how people going on a few weeks without desert. Gah!

Hee, you're welcome. I'm actually thinking about making this myself next time I host a D&D session.
By the way I love that this thread was started complaining of too many females and we're filling it with all this "traditionally feminine" baking stuff. XD
That's the idea. You get it.
& some Trololo songs. & Lore discussion. & World Culture.
EDIT: The thing is, today baking & cooking is not only reserved for women. And Gaming's not only reserved for men. My BF's a better cook than me. No denying. I love to cook & I can cook well, and he's still the better cook between us (and he's an engineer, not a professional cook).
When we see at "who cooks in the party camp" thread, many people say BW will be the best cook. BW's manliness had never been a question.
I feel like the mods have kept it up so we have a place to chit-chat and not clog up the other threads in the process. ![]()
Either that or they are furiously writing down recipes and are now patiently waiting for more.

If you have a good potato cakes recipe I'm interested
An old Irish lady once used to make me some. I really miss the taste...
I'll have to go digging for it, its been a long while since I've used it and I change little things in it so much
I do recall it having a slight sweet taste to it could have been the bacon I used. Darnit now I want to experiment with that recipe again. If I happen to find it I'll edit in here for ya it was pretty good recipe imo.
Edit: Found some of it though I left out a lot of what I tried with it but its a basic recipe enough to add your own flair to it for sure. Bout a pound of potatoes boiled and mashed (instant potatoes will not work as a replacement trust me I've tried and it went horribly wrong), chopped up bacon how much depends on your tastes (I recall using turkey bacon gave it a more sweet flavor than pork bacon) 2 table spoons of flour (might have to use more to make the potatoes stick I usually just went with adding flour till they could shape right sorry^^; ) the recipe also asks for salt and pepper to taste but I've added some other spices to mine for a bit of kick like a small pinch of chili powder.
Boil and mash the potatoes up really good doesn't matter if they have skin or not though mashing them without skin might be easier, add the potatoes, bacon, flour and spices into a bowl and mix it up until its solid enough to shape into the patties. Once shape lightly fry them for about 5 to 10 minutes on each side.
Sorry for the bare bones recipe I really should remember to write down the little tweaks that work when I experiment with cooking.
EDIT IMPORTANT EDIT: Stupid of me to forget this but the bacon has to be fried before hand of course then chopped up.

Probably. It's not like the trolls even got to troll that much before getting shut down by other posters. I think we've done a fine job of self-policing in this thread.
I have a great recipe for cinnamon-habanero chili if anyone is a chili fan!
Oh I just remember does anyone have any suggestions for baked chicken? With out stove out baked chicken is used a lot in this house but a way to spice it up a little would be nice. My grandmother usually does salt pepper and seasoned flour and I usually use cyan pepper and lemon and a bit of garlic. So any suggestions to change it up would be most welcome ![]()
Teriyaki sauce! Baste the chickens with teriayki sauce, then put a pineapple ring on each piece before putting in the oven.
BBQ sauce, of course!
Also, here's a marinade I use for pork, but it's probably pretty good with chicken: 1/4 c. soy sauce, 1/4 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 Tbsp sherry/vermouth/cooking wine (mirin also works), 1 tsp powdered ginger, 2 tsp mustard powder, 2 tsp lemon juice. Just mix it all together, douse the chicken and bake.
Oh wow I'm going to try making all your recipes! Sounds so delicious!
Here's another favourite for 10 minutes preparation & 25 minutes cooking (can be left to cook alone): Beef & Eggplant & Zucchini Casserole. (very very easy). Good for busy day. Or DA:I evening.
Ground beef, cook slightly on medium heat until it is all brown
Remove skin (?) from eggplant & zucchini & cut into slice
Red Bell Pepper, diced
put the layer of zucchini on the casserole dish, put pepper & basilic, then the beef, another layer of basilic & rosemary, then bell pepper, then eggplant & put some grated cheese on top (Emmental usually works well).
Bake for 20 minutes.
Tadaaaa!
Truthfully I'm wondering, what kind of recipe & cooking can be done in Campfire for Inquisitor, Warden & Company during travel?
Since they can't have too many pots & pans it should be a one-pot, made with ingredients that won't spoil too fast & won't break. I imagine eggs will be out of questions.
Alistair & Leliana mention Stew on DA:O. We might reasonably guess on game meat from time to time.
Normally, roots veggies like Potatoes, Carrots, Turnips can also be brought for travel without much risk & won't spoil.
So stew, stew, stew?
Porridge?
I'll try to find whether I can find/create recipes for this kind of travel.
Blackwall mentions that he goes fishing, and I imagine he knows how to cook the results over a campfire.
