Greek mythology? Love that stuff. I'm game to geek out over some of it if the topic gets brought up  <3

Steak cupcake wrapped in bacon with mashed potato "frosting" and bacon bits with cheese? :o

That's that **** I LIKE. THAT's my kind of "cupcake".

Lol, I knew you would like it! Five brothers, remember.  ;)

Oh, I forgot to reply. Yes I wanna see! Show!

Oh, here she is:

Hair kind of annoys me though, with how sparse it is at the roots but I think she's pretty.  ^_^

This thread is amazing. It's covered so many of my favorite things: Cocktails, cupcakes, goat cheese, goats themselves, Poison Ivy, Boom's fiction...

Now if we just talk about Greek mythology and the Twilight Zone, it officially becomes my favorite thread.

My second character, my human mage, was almost named Gaia, after the Greek goddess of the earth.  I decided against it because it was too obvious.  I'm drinking from the Well on this character.  She's named Terra instead.

As to your other subject, I've been really wanting a completely off-the-wall Fade romp.  Where just oddness and strange logic happens for the sake of, "It was just a dream."  Maybe a place where instead of a Blight, it's a Blessing that comes upon the land that the people pray for.  Instead of darkspawn and corrupt Old Gods, there is a similar race of gentle beings that are tasked with awakening the pure Old Gods.  These Old Gods always fall eventually, due to warriors dedicated to balance between Light and Dark.

To keep it a little grounded, at the end is a Desire Demon masquerading as an benign creature.  Complete with a false sense of calm and tranquility radiating from it.

This is not the Thedas you knew.  This...is the Twilight Zone.   :D

All hail Thor! Loki! Freya! My favorite, the god of sexy, Baldur! and Odin!

Excellent! Halfway to my goal. ^_^

My favorite is Eros and Psyche, but I also have a soft spot for Perseus, because the original clash on the titans was a favorite growing up. What about you?

Is it weird that I keep trying to convince myself that there is some epic love story hidden away between Hades and Persephone?  -_-

Nope, I've been wondering that for years.  I am sick of Hades being portrayed as some sort of evil jealous god, when frankly he's just a guy trying to do the job he was stuck with.  He's a rather neutral guy in much of the mythos and shows acts of kindness that don't seem forced from time to time.  He also has a sense of fair play, so long as you stick to the agreed upon rules.

Artemis, Hephaestus, and Hades are some of my favorite gods/goddess though I mostly feel bad for Hephaestus. Oh and Eris I also really like her but I'd have to say Artemis is my favorite. Even did about half of my school papers on her when given the chance didn't matter how much I needed to twist and stretch it to make it fit either  Its been so long since I read any but most of the books I own are dedicated to Greek mythology.

I don't know if it's cheating or not, but it's from the 1983 Twilight Zone movie.  It's the segment where the very racist man walks out of a bar...and ends up in a Nazi controlled future.  The irony is so sweet.

I was more of an Outer Limits fan, especially the reboot from back in the 90s.  My husband and I bonded early on over our favorite episode: The Double Helix.

Yay! I really like him too, definitely one of my favourites.  ^_^

Next question and not the best written literature but have any of you read the dark hunter series?

The so called evil ones in religions often actually seem to be perfectly fine if you look at them, lol. "Melek Taus" who is called the devil by the ignorant in Yazidi religion is actually looked at as an example because his only "crime" was obeying god's word to the very end, and he was punished for it and later redeemed. But Muslims take him to be Shatan, and they're wrong.

And honestly, the serpent in the garden gave man true free will and self awareness. Honestly, even if you dropped and spat on it, I'd dust that apple off and savor each and every bite. Life's not worth much if your just bumbling around like a moron completely unaware of oneself.

I like this, but I absolutely adore James Woods' performance in the Disney Hercules. He is absolutely hysterical, the only thing that saved that movie from being completely unwatchable. All the mythology screwups and bizarre characterizations pissed me off, but Woods was worth it.

Apart from that, though, yeah. Aides was great, apart from the whole Persephone thing, which you can kind of explain away if you work at it but it's still pretty skeevy.

Agreed

I'd actually recommend his performance in the Kingdom Hearts games as well.  He's a lot of fun, especially outside of that rather goofy movie.  Don't get me wrong, I liked the Disney movie it was just...a little off.

Speaking of things along those lines, Hera getting portrayed as this almost constant patient and loving type (especially in regards to Hercules) has gotten very old.  To quote Sera: "She's a b*tch and she knows it.  She'd better."  That's who Hera was, not that I blame her.

Hephaestus is a favorite of mine too. One of the reasons I dislike Hera so much.

Yeah can't stand Hera because of Hephaestus. I mean I get why she's a ****** and angry I'd be too if the person I was with screwed anything they could and had a bunch of kids running around the place but can't really give her slack for what she did to Hephaestus. Don't like Aphrodite that much either since I like Hephaestus quite a bit.

Isn't Sandara great? Eluvianus' current pic of Dorian is one of theirs.

I'll find more. I know she has at least one other of the two of them...it's just less finished.

I love almost all of these videos, lol. So entertaining. This reminds me of a rap I wrote up when my Roman fanboy thread was talking **** about germans and "barbarian nations". Had to school him so he'd hush. Let me see if I can find it...
