Actually, if females took over the Cassandra thread, I think it'd be a lot more fun....
Whenever I think of the Cassandra thread I just start crying.
...on the inside. Yeah. That. Totally.

I tried to immerse myself in that thread but it just doesn't work. Too much dick measuring going on.
That was the case, prior to her being revealed as straight. Afterward, it seems to be pretty mixed as far as I can tell.
I'd totes make her lesbian if it meant we could talk about something other than qunari and dwarves banging her being weird, lol. I mean, I agree, but I don't care enough to keep talking about it.
Wait, I mean bisexual, lol.
The Diomedeia? She only kicked his butt by proxy.
Well, then I'll use head canon! ![]()
LOL. I'm sorry, I can tell accuracy is important to you. I don't actually remember much beyond having that thought while it was happening. It was by proxy in what way? I'm not sure it was the Diomedeia...this was elementary school, so very probably not. Maybe something loosely based off of the Diomedeia?

That's us dudes, always obsessed with our "firemen".

I'm sorry, what was that? Something in this post looks familiar.............hmmmmmmm.
Son of a ******... lol

Lol. Every time I have popped in in the last two weeks you are always arguing about the same thing--what is the Cass OTP. ![]()
At first look, the Cassandra thread usually seems like a total boys club.
I meant overtake it in page count, geez. If we are planning a thread coup, I can think of much more deserving threads to be taken over than those nice folks. Probably something about the Dalish or maybe Anders.
Hahaha! I've given up keeping up with the Cullen thread. We're talking fifteen pages a day or significantly more sometimes. It moves absurdly fast.
I don't like our odds.

I was thinking that if we reach 50 pages we should have some sort of celebration. To go this long without a single mod popping in is weird and awesome.

That's the only thing that seems to spark conversation about her for some reason, lol. And me personally, I'd rather talk about something cass related than nothing...
Sucks, but you gotta take what you can get. And as a guy, I like confrontation, lol. You know how I am ![]()
Like I said, we can't even talk fanfiction or anything because "Ew feelings, smut girly. It's beneath me!" Sigh. Lame.

So I shouldn't fill the Cass thread up with lots of womanly loving?
So, when heroes had Truly Epic Once-in-a-Lifetime Amazing Performances On the Battlefield in the Iliad, they were called aristeias, and Diomedes, the Achaian warrior and comrade of Odysseus, has his in Book 5, shortly after the truce is broken. Diomedes wipes out about a zillion Trojan dudes before Ares and Aphrodite personally zip down from Olympos to contain the damage. Then Athene comes to Diomedes and is like "take all my weapons and you'll be able to beat the crap out of gods too" and the meathead is like KEWL and he does exactly that and he maims Ares and Aphrodite and makes them both run away.
Then Apollo shows up and is like DUDE WTF I WAS BANGING ONE OR MORE OF THOSE PEOPLE and Diomedes is like fine whatevs I will just kill mortals. Unlike Patroklos or Hektor, Diomedes actually listens when a god tells him to do stuff, and he reaps the reward of not dying during the poem.
Anyway, with Athene's help, Diomedes is the only human in Greek myth to ever take on gods and win.
and sorry for seeming like a pedantic b***h it's kind of my job but I'm not exactly on the clock at the moment so my b
It took me like three readings to fully absorb this, possibly because it's one in the morning where I am. I have actually encountered this story, but you just reminded me of it for the first time in years. Thank you. ![]()
The thing I was previously referencing was definitely not this, it wasn't anything classical.
So you're a Professor? I think it might have cut you off a bit at the end there.
So I shouldn't fill the Cass thread up with lots of womanly loving?
Oh please do, lol. It probably won't go anywhere, but do it anyway.
I bet my left nut that at most, it'll spark some debate about why Cassandra would never like women though, rather than just enjoying the hypothetical fun.

I'll do my bit!
Here's a fun thing I learned in college about Greek myth (In Women Who Run With the Wolves, by Clarissa Pinkola Estes).
There is a semi-forgotten deity among the Greeks known as Baubo. It seems as though she was a really popular goddess in early Greek culture; but later generations of Grecians were not super into her. Likely because Baubo was, to put it nicely, 'earthy', and the Greeks were so eye-screamingly sexist that they didn't want their women to get Ideas from this very overtly sexual goddess.
The only legend which really survives intact is part of the Persephone cycle. Demeter is mourning her lost daughter, wondering how to get her back. And Baubo bounces up to her, bare-arse nekkid, and basically cheers Demeter up by telling her a bunch of really filthy jokes. That snaps Demeter out of her fog of depression, and she's then able to work out a plan of action to get Persephone back.
Edit: Baubo also had no head. Her face was in her belly (well, lower belly - I wasn't kidding about her being an earthy goddess!), and that is from where she spoke.

Well, there's some variety popping up now and then...
But yeah, mostly a boys club. ![]()
I love the titltle of the topic "Females everywhere"... i'm french, and in french, if you talk to a woman and tell her she is a femelle ... you can be pretty sure she will put her femelle hand on your macho male face ![]()
Usually we use the term female/male for animals, not for human... The appropriate tittle for this topic whould have been "Ladies everywhere" lol
