Marcurio! Marcurio was an amazing romance option.

Marcurio: "If these ruins frighten you, take comfort in the knowledge that I am here."

Me: I sure will, my favorite squishy little mortal. Hang on a second, I'm about to snipe about 6 sleeping Draugr in a row, okay?"

I just wish he was a little bigger, body type wise. I tried to make him some Daedric Mage armor (Enchanting was my favorite crafting school) and he looked...kind of laughable.

Actually though...I wanted a Altmer love interest.

It's the accents...and the attitude.

Marcurio is quite nice but it'd be akward to marry him with my Imperial who name is Mauricio. They even look little like each other and it's complete coincidence which is pretty funny XD

Yeah, all two of them, and one of them wasn't even in the books.  Man LotR was such a sausage fest.  And I am not even saying that as an SJW (because I don't consider myself one).  I think I'll stick with the Witcher books for my balanced breakfast of fantasy male and female characters.

Yep apparently Tolkien thought women were urban legend.. shame that many followed his lead on that : /

Hopefully Witcher books have better female characters than Witcher game, at least the first one so far has had couple fanservice ladies for quick one nightstand. I guess Triss and Shani are actual characters though although I haven't seen them doing much at the point I'm in the game ^^;

IMO, Tolkien celebrated women. Galadriel was deified as both incredibly wise and powerful. Eowyn was badass.

There was Arwen. There was that woman...Tom Bombadil's love. There was Rosie, Sam's wife. Sam's daughter was Elanor, and I think there was something about her becoming Arwen's handmaiden when she grew up.

Tolkien's approach to gender equality was colored by the time he wrote the books and his setting, but he was pretty fair for his day.

Well you need to get over the fact that Thedas is not Medieval Europe, its not an allegorical telling of Medieval Europe

its a fantasy universe where religion is predominantly matriarchal

The only thing that have bothered me in  southern thedas is the fact that there is no equality  in  the chantry  between male and female because of their stupid   dogma.

But the important thing that i have to said is this:

The male characters companion are worse developed compared to the female onesCassandra, Leliana, Morrigan,Isabela,Sera,Josephine,Sirgun>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sebastian, Alistair,Carver, Oghreen, Dorian,Sten,Anders Seriously in this games there are amazing females characters but aside of a few exception   like  Solas or Cullen o  Loghain (but you can use him only during the end of DAO)  males feels so  whiny and  week in their personalitiy,  why?  I have only a female  Hawke as female protagonist because if i select as female main warden or a female Inquisitor, then to me it's seems that there is no equal  strong male countropart to enjoy the story.

Seriously  bioware we need   males that  looks like  males  in  DA , like  Cullen or  Loghain   (Solas is an elven god i will not consider him) .

It comes to personal preference what kind of characters do you like, I think DA is full of well written and different characters. I slightly prefer more male characters that it has, I think too many female characters are over-ambitious and plotting like Morrigan, Leliana, Vivienne, Anora, Celene, Briala..

Ambitious is the key word,  aside from  Loghain  (mmm...... Corypheus i will not consider him as a male) i do not see any ambitious in the male characters it's  seems that the females have absorbed all the ambitious  of  the game  (only Sebastian if he become rival and Anders is spared), ambitious can be a good quality to develop a character, one ambitious man  just  one in all the 3 games we have only  Loghain.

Yep and Loghain is one of characters I dislike most ^^; Hmm, I'd prefer if they lessened amount of ambitious women and transfered some of that ambition to male characters though. Too many similar female characters for me at the moment.

Ooh Bill Kaulitz. I like Tokio Hotel.  B) Their lyrics are better in German though.

Also, I'd like to point out this is his identical twin brother Tom:

If you're going to include Celene and Briala, you have to include Gaspard.  If you're going to include Leliana, you have to include Cullen (he's hardly un-ambitious, if you talk to him about how excelled in the Templars).  If you're going to include Vivienne, you have to include Dorian (what is more ambitious than trying to change everything your country stands for?).  Sebastian is entirely about personal ambition to regain his throne, Anders is entirely about his ambition to further the mage cause.

I guess over-ambitious and plotting go here hand in hand. I'm not saying that being ambitious is character trait I necessarily hate but what's it's combined with these female character I don't like. I'd say that Merrill for example is very ambitious but her I like :)

well but numbers are not an opinion:

Meredith,Briala, Celene,Leliana,Cassandra,Morrigan,Vivienne,Anora,Flemeth,The baroness in DAA

All of them are ambitious mostly for personal  purpose  (aside from Cassandra,Leliana)

While Anders is not ambitious he have decided to live as a rat in Kirkwall instead of become important in Amaranthine i see him as someone who have sacrificied his life.

Dorian is not  ambitious for personal purpose.

the only ambitious male real ambitious  to me are  Bhelen,Loghain. Arle Howe.

Triss is by far my favorite character of the Witcher books and games. I really don't care for Geralt...so I hope Triss does not get screwed over in Witcher III with Ciri being around and Yennefer being back. Saskia was a pretty badass girl in Witcher II.saskia-w3.jpg2673732-the_witcher_3_wild_hunt-triss.jp
