They also have this great chill bluesy soundtrack that is wonderful to listen to when just... chilling, really, lol.

No idea what cowboy bebop is. 

A damned fine anime with a solid American cast.  I own that one too; I'd highly recommend checking it out.  The tie-in movie is hit-or-miss, and you don't need it to have closure on the story.  Trigun is another one, that gets into surprising dark and serious themes while keeping with the tone of the rest of the anime.  Both Cowboy Bebob and Trigun came out in the late 90s.

 

Now, if you want a good head-screw, watch Serial Project: Lain.

This version of Dragon Age does seem to have mostly women in prominent to powerful positions, from Scout Harding, to Grand Enchanter Fiona, to Empress Celene, to The Divine. I didn't think this was debatable, it seemed rather noticeable and obvious. The writers didn't turn the female characters "masculine" or anything to do it either (well, maybe except for Cassandra). I thought it was interesting.

The prominent males like Gaspard and Corypheus seemed to be put in more antagonistic/support type roles. Corypheus is male, right?

The novels (Asunder, Masked Empire, and [/]Last Flight[i]) tied in to Inquisition also seemed dominated by female characters as well.

I just thought the devs were trying to make the game/lore more appealing to female gamers.
