This version of Dragon Age does seem to have mostly women in prominent to powerful positions, from Scout Harding, to Grand Enchanter Fiona, to Empress Celene, to The Divine. I didn't think this was debatable, it seemed rather noticeable and obvious. The writers didn't turn the female characters "masculine" or anything to do it either (well, maybe except for Cassandra). I thought it was interesting.

The prominent males like Gaspard and Corypheus seemed to be put in more antagonistic/support type roles. Corypheus is male, right?

The novels (Asunder, Masked Empire, and [/]Last Flight[i]) tied in to Inquisition also seemed dominated by female characters as well.

I just thought the devs were trying to make the game/lore more appealing to female gamers.

I had a friend of mine about 15 years ago open his own anime shop.  As a result, I scored Trigun, Outlaw Star (another excellent anime,) and Cowboy Bebob plus movie for free.  I still have my Vash wall scroll proudly displayed in the hallway.  I've got Lain on perma-loan from a high school friend, as well as X.  I need to get more of the classics, except for Akria.  I loathed Akria, since it went so far off the rails in the last 15 minutes.  Note that the ending made sense to me, I just hated it.

 

OTOH, I never got into Dragonball Z (though I tried,) Salior Moon (the American version, the original Japanese one wasn't bad,) nor have I ever touched anything Pokemon except for a stuffed Charmander that an ex of mine won at a carnival.  

 

I also got into Inuyasha for a little bit, but they lost me at around season 4.

'Sounds about right.  Hmm, I'm almost due to watch Trigun again.

 

Speaking of stuff like that,  Lain is one I like to pop in on rare occasion as well.  I'm trying to get my husband to watch it with me.  The first time I saw Lain, I did a marathon through the whole series.  Worth it, but I don't think I could do that one again.
