She was on the Blog frequently; cannot understand why anyone would avoid the forums....

Don't get me wrong... I know WHY she did. But when it is literally in your job description... hell, in your job TITLE... you have to at least give some effort.

I know that's a character he plays. I meant that him, as a person, when not in character, still comes off as a jerk. How he reacts to various events (that shall remain nameless due to their volatility) on Twitter are a good example.

I first "met" Wil when watching some Acquisitions, Inc. from a Pax convention (live D&D, loads of fun!) and I immediately felt a dislike towards him. I felt he was way too loud and in-your-face.

Then came Tabletop and I've watched every episode at least once and it didn't take me long to find out he's actually pretty awesome. He says things quite brashly, but his messages are always good (or at least I've never seen him advocate something I didn't agree with). "Don't be a dick" is a good example.

In short, he's passionate, he's a huge geek and he wants good things for the world. Once you see past his attitude, there's a good person behind it :)

At least, that's my experience with the man.

Have you been on these forums? I'd avoid them as a Bioware employee. Believe it or not, being community mangers does not mean posting on the company forums frequently. She helped organized events. facilitated inter-company communication, and she did blog frequently.

I was being sarcastic; forgot the emoticon....

And I read that particular announcement, but do not recall where it was posted as I do not use social media as a rule. Don't know if there was something else.

Actually, a community manager should view it as their job to be the voice of the company to the community. While that doesn't mean living on the forums 24/7, having even the most basic of role in communicating (even to just come in and link an update to the blog, or when big items are released elsewhere, such as Tumblr or Twitter) IS their job. Manage the Community - not just play dress up during conventions.
