It used to be:
Zev
Alistair
Varric
Now it's:
Dorian
Solas
Zevran
Honourable mention goes to Cole for initiating some of the best party banter and being generally interesting to take everywhere.

Morrigan.
Honorable mentions; Leliana, Iron Bull, Vivienne, Cassandra.
It's hard to choose between Solas, Sten, the Arishok, Loghain, or Meredith.
Hmmm... in alphabetical order:
Alistair, Aveline, Cassandra, Dorian, Fenris, Flemeth, Morrigan, Vivienne
Too... many... lovelies ![]()
Origins:
Alistair, Morrigan (Zevran, Oghren... everyone from this game, really. But not Leliana <.<)
DA II:
Aveline, Varric (Fenris)
Inquisition:
Cole, Solas (Cassandra, Dorian, and so on.)
Origins and Inquisition have so many good ones!
Loghain.
Loghain, with Solas very nearly eclipsing him depending on future actions. Morrigan, Flemeth.
Other favorites are Dorian, Cassandra, Shale, and Cole.
Favorite character for me : Morrigan & Leliana. I like both and it's impossible for me to choose one . Second is Isabella and on the third place is Solas.
Cole's my favorite DA character. Morrigan, Cassandra, Josephine and Leliana are favorites as well.
EDIT: Right and honorable mentions include: Alistair, Wynne, Anora, Justice, Aveline, Bethany, Isabela, Merril, Vivienne, Solas, Dorian, Ser Barris and Cullen.
So you're into a woman who's fanatic, batshit crazy, selfish and heartless person who wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice an innocent people to serve her own agenda, who lie to you, who set you up and manipulate you into doing her dirty work. Interesting...
And you're not turned on by any of that?
Just messin'.
First name that came to my mind was Alistair, so I assume that for me noone can beat that awkward idealistic nerd. He's the best of the best of all three games. Other characters would be secondary.
I thought we were supposed to pick one, lol? And NOT the player character.
Haha @errant, initially I thought one but that's why I put the s in parentheses if people have more than one, I just put Anders as my favorite apart from the protagonists! I also really liked Dorian, Leiliana, Aveline, and Cullen!
Hard choice... there`s so many good characters, but my favorites are:
Origins: Alistair and Morrigan
DA II: Anders, Aveline and Varric
Inquisition: Cullen, Solas and Dorian

Sorry, I know we were not suppose to mention our Warden-Commander from DA:O or Hawke from DA2, but, I do love my femhawke mage. I would not sacrifice her to be an afternoon crumpet to a giant spider for anyone.
I wish she was a romanceable option (yes I said right) in DA:I seeing that she remained single throughout my playthroughs on DA2. There was no one that I was drawn to as the Inquisitor. I thought maybe Cassandra, but no.
Second in line is Leliana. She's my wardens soul mate. I choose her all the time. I love her character.
Then Varric and Bethany Hawke
Can't forget about Oghren and Isabella ![]()
And yes, I was one of the very, very few that actually liked Velanna from DA: Awakening.
Lastly there would be Cassandra.
Sten. Being tough on the Warden and urging him to get straight to the objective. 'We need to kill the archdemon NOW'.. However after Origins Sten died...He is now born as Arishok. I can picture the same thing on DAI 'We must Defeat Corypheus' Inquisitor response 'Wait we have to travel and place flowers on a grave, Bring back mama's ring and do some gardening at skyhold'
Nothing can ever quite top the epicness of my DA:O party (Morrigan, Alistair and Shale)
Overall I think Alistair is my fav companion (Didn't play DA 2 at all so can't comment on anyone in that game) followed by Morrigan and Solas.
Dorian.
Merrill and Lelliana for me
Loghain, Shale, Morrigan, Flemeth, Solas
Perfect list, I like that they're all morally grey or just jerks
Solas, Anders, and Morrigan, in that order. Apparently I have a type, and that type is "apostates who make terrible, horrible life choices."
