She wasn't tricked about Alexius being a tevinter mage, her being too stupid to bother checking if the templars really were coming for them is just a frther condemnation of her abilities.

We don't know if that was the real Fiona, it could have been an Envy demon as I've seen argued previously, and it would make sense.  They needed to get the Inquisitor to visit the mages to try and trap him

Theres no evidence to support it was the envy demon. Theres no reason to have an alternative explanation to who Fiona at the capital was since it was Fiona. Time magic does crazy stuff.

Anyway, lets drop the templars vs mages argument. Its not going to go anywhere.

This thread is about supporting the bright hand endings as the best endings when you side with the mages. Arguing the templars are better is just off topic.

They did punish all mages for what Anders did though, applying very harsh conditions. Also mages had every right ti be angry at what Templars did at Kirkwall, unjustly annulling a circle which had nothing to do with the incident.

. And they are rightfully upset about that. But they rebelled only after Fiona and Adrian made sure peace was impossible.

Dorian outright says Alexius used time magic to steal the mages from the Inquisition. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

And did Fiona join the mages who actually fought or were she and Adrian sitting in a camp far away from everything "leading"?

Those mages in the hinterlands were nuts that believe in ruling like gods so Fiona disowned them. Your told as much by Corporal Vale.

Lambert destroyed any peaceful approach when he disbanded the college. Its the only way mages can commune with diplomacy.

Fiona didnt need to sell herself into servitude to gain protection at Redcliff though , there was no way Arl Teagan would have allowed the templars to storm in and kill all the mages , at least not without a fight , if Fiona had a brain she'd have realized that and told Alexius to **** off.

. And I say Fiona did it when she hijacked the assembly at the White Spire

That's impossible to tell because we know nothing about the actual war. We only know how it started (Lambert and the templars started to kill the first enchanters before a vote could be cast)...and the end (after the conclave was destroyed). But Adrian and "sitting in a camp"? Very unlikely...

Does it matter? The college is the only official thing mages have thus its like a foreign speaker to them, with that disbanded no mage has the authority to talk about anything, least of all approach things with diplomacy.

So if you want to blame Fiona know that she had no diplomatic way, thanks to Lambert.

Ah, thats right. Lambert actually attacked during the first vote Fiona tried to set up. Its only after the mages escaped and the templars were organizing their hunt them that Fiona held a second vote for Independence, which passed.

Actually it was Justina V that outplayed him. But Leliana was badass in the book.

Though I suppose its Cole that really outplayed Lambert.

"Look into my eyes"

What a chilling way to end a book. lol

What was it, her fourth time to try and break away the Circles?

Her second. I think there were only two attempts at succession in the book.

I was a bit disappointed that Adrian isn't in the game (not even mentioned).

Asunder wasn't the first time she tried to break away the Circles.

That's because she's dead and forgotten, where she deserves to be. I'm just mad I didn't get to do it.

She probably died. good riddance. I'm surprised Fiona gets all the hate. Adrian deserves more hate.

Cole mentions her but that's the only mention of her in the entire game.

Ah, there were votes before that failed then? Wynn probably mentioned that. Been a while since I read the book.

Fiona was hated before Asunder. Asunder just made the hatred against her worse.
