I felt depressed. It went away but still. Ridiculous
Did anyone feel kinda sad/depressed feeling after ME3?

The reaction to that ending in the days following its release were unlike anything I've ever seen in terms of game reaction.
I was addicted to this place in March 2012 because it was crazy in a way I haven't seen since.

Been awhile since I've been on this post noticing and reading everyone's thoughts and feelings.
Going to start a new play though but with the same Shepard however, wouldn't dare on making a new one.
Another thought popped in my mind to relate to this topic; How do you feel about your own Shepard in an emotional way?
As you can see, my Shepard is my profile picture
I simply can't use any Mass Effect character on my profile anymore.
Thus, Minsc (and Boo!), a symbol of what Bioware used to be. ![]()

Hehe, my Shepards will probably always look the same way as well. I've become quite attached to him in the last game.
It's not that I did not care for him in ME1 and 2, but I definitely felt the connection lacking a bit. In ME3 I finally felt really attached to him, maybe it was the voice acting, or (even though many seemed to hate Shep being portrayed that way) that he showed emotion, that he was thoughtful, and doubting, and had dreams about the child he couldn't save. I felt it made him more human and less like this badass machine and it also built up nicely towards the end.

I think I have yet to find anyone who was like "I'm super happy!" after beating it, that's for sure.

I enjoyed the whole series. Warts and all. Yeah I know the ending (ME3) sucks big time. But the game was still great. My first play-though, where I knew little of how to keep everyone alive through the series I ended with like 2600EMS. Of course, the next game was perfect.
I just can't bring myself to kill everyone.

Didn't care for how the original endings were executed but was fine with the EC.

In a way I was kind of glad ME3's ending went over so badly. It gives lots of stuff to talk about.

As it is now, all the games are uninstalled, and all saves deleted. I will never again play the series, and I will, probably forever, remain bitter.
Still have DA though, thankfully.

Part of me wishes I was around to see this, though in all likelihood, if I was, that would mean that I first played ME3 before the Extended Cut was released, and I think I prefer my current time line.

Where to start, I just finished my second play through with all 3 Mass Effects as I type now because I felt something after completing all of them this time tonight.
The first day I purchased all three Mass Effects; I had my doubts being around a month and a half ago buying them mid November. (I know, shoot me now. I wished I played these games a lot sooner, I don't know why I didn't).
As I started up ME 1 I thought I'd give it a chance not knowing what an epic adventure I had coming my way.
I created my character to what resembled me with the best of my ability and was thrown on the Normandy clicking my first option towards Joker.
Long story short I completed ME1 in just under a week wanting so much more, so I headed on to ME2.
This took me a little bit longer to finish making sure I had everyone loyal towards me and listened to every bit of dialogue presented before me.
Again, after I finished that I headed over to ME 3 knowing that my journey will come to an end. I read reviews and listened how everyone judged the ending for what it was. It was time for me to decide.
Talking to the Catalyst at the end of the game making sure I understood my three choices standing before me I went ahead and destroyed all the Reapers.
As the piano played, faces of friends and my LI (Liara) flashed by me, it then hit me, this was pretty damn sad.
In the end; being indoctrinated in game or not I felt depressed the following week walking around the house doing what I had to do. I didn't know this game could have such an effect on me.
I had so much spare time on my hands (I finished Year 12 at school, this is why I finished the games quickly) just lying there at night pondering about my personal Shepard lying there in the rubble and taking that last breath before the screen cut to black.
I couldn't stand it anymore, I started again at ME 1 but played as my Shepard I already created. I thought that a second play through would make me fell better, just to get it out of my system.
I couldn't stand to make a brand new save file. I was literally attached to the this digital avatar of myself (hope that doesn't sound weird).
I once again played ME 1, 2, 3 again, however I bought all DLCs for ME 2 and 3 to expand my experience further and I regret nothing, money well spent!
I pretty much played through the Paragon path again, I couldn't stand being a Renegade. It was pretty much Deja Vu.
As I replayed ME 3 again I threw in a few mods from the Nexus being ThaneMod, MEHEM, Citadel Epilogue mod and Anderson Extended final conversation.
Today, finishing the trilogy again as I sat next to Anderson, talking about having a family I actually shed a few tears as he died I shamelessly admit. The game finished with MEHEM with my Shepard being alive placing Anderson name plaque on the wall and hugging Tali as my LI. I became red by holding my grief in. The party in Anderson's apartment came and went as I tried to let it last as long as I could. Then came the ending, my ending where we all boarded the Normandy letting me view it one last time.
And here I am now typing and awake at 3:30am still trying to get over it, I feel even worse than finishing the game the first time. If this sounds really silly or dumb then I have no shame, this game really touched me. Even if I entered a third play through with all three games tomorrow then I'm just going to repeat myself again.
Anyway, if you got this far then thanks for reading.
I'd like to hear from you guys and to know what you guys felt at the end of the game.
I got into ME a month ago... yep sarted with ME1 as femshep but without any love interest full paragon. Then I went to my second playthrough... I hated priority earth because it was illogical but the last scenes? even if the catalyst is pure BS it hit me like a bulldozer

It took three years for things to settle down this much. You really want to imagine what it was like fresh? ![]()
Let's just say that, all their talk aside, Bioware learned something about jerking their fanbase around.

Not really. It's been this "settled" for a while now, especially outside the BSN.

No, I mean "settled" as in rational individuals getting over their angst and wanting to return to the universe. Posters come, yell loudly, and go all the time in this forum. You know that.

Yeah, people need to get over having their own opinions and just keep playing Mass Effect. It's the only rational course ![]()
Seriously, do you think after all that backlash, and Bioware's rather cavalier response, people just shrugged and went "oh, well, it's not so bad?" Or it is more "rational" to assume they moved on to something else, games they actually liked, Leaving behind the memory of Mass Effect as "that game with the terribad ending" to recall when MENext gets announced?
Those are the people Bioware has to win back. The "shut up and take my money!" crowd is already here.

There are also people with "at least multiplayer was fun" mentality as well as "the games were great and the last 10 minutes won't ruin the trilogy for me". Most of these people continued playing.
You mentioned "shut up and take my money" crowd. That's one extreme of the fanbase. Another extreme is "the endings are vile and I won't touch anything Mass Effect-related content if it has any connection to the endings". Bioware can't do anything about those extremes. While the first one is positive for them, the second one is not. Thankfully both are quite minor and don't affect the game's success in any noticeable way.

I wasn't sad or depressed after my first playthrough. All I did was throw my arms in the air wondering where the closure was.
Along come's the extended cut and gave me a good laugh with the what-the-crap evac scene. It did fix the flashbacks. Don't know what my reaction would've been had the extended cut been included with the main game. I know I would still laugh at that evac scene.
Even after 3 years, I still play all 3 games

Sure there's those groups. You really think they'll be eager to preorder? Or purchase the game full price, even (I can't imagine anyone wanting to pay $60 for ME3's MP)? They're still burned, even if their burns are minor in comparison.
The MENext team should keep in mind that a lot of us are going to be living by the phrase "Fool me once, shame on you..."

I was not depressed by the ending or any aspect of the game. I thought the game was hilarious and silly in my first play through. I hadn't laughed so hard at a game ever before. I liked a lot of the little comic touches that lay in the crew banter etc, but the things I found most funny were not intended to provoke a comic reaction; they were some of the most dramatic scenes in the script, but the execution was so flawed that I recoiled out of the drama
I didn't keep that good humour long after I got exposed to this forum and started to see that people actually took this game franchise seriously.

Tbh, yes, I believe they will buy the game at full price (I even saw such comments recently). Especially if EA/Bioware will not lower the price for quite some time after release and the game turns out to be amazing (which I hope it will).
I do expect a drop of preorder rate for ME:Next, especially after bug-littered Dragon Age Inquisition release.
What you say about them keeping in mind. Do you know how they can address that? By making an amazing game that people won't regret getting at full price. Which, I think, will be beneficial for everyone ![]()

That's my group, particularly after the Extended Cut. I'm never going to love the endings to Mass Effect 3, but the EC managed to salvage them enough that they are at least palatable. Or High EMS Destroy is at least. Also even despite the very flawed endings, I think Mass Effect 3 is the best game in the trilogy.

I met many people in this forum over the past few years that swore they would never buy another Bioware product again. Many were very emotional and adamant; I can think of a couple of people posting over 10'000 times how they hate ME3 and all things Bioware.
Come mid -November 2014, many of these people have their nice shiny DA:I avatars and Bioware has the most successful launch in its history. Considering the bad sales performance of DA2, I wondered where all this extra fan interest came from. I suspect a lot of it smuggled over from this franchise.
I've yet to buy into the brand again myself. I saw enough of DA:I to know it would not interest me. I pre-ordered TW3 and saving my cash for a serious rig to play the thing
Cannot comment on ME:NG the hype train for that hasn't left the terminus yet
