I don't recall it hitting anything else. I remember it sucking.

The explosion on fade cloak is very small, its more of a single target nuke (unless you have the hoover spell :D)
Lightning bolt is terrible, **** damage, long cooldown, and high mana cost, for stunning a single target and MAYBE knocking a few down.   Your better off with literally any other spell.

My first build was Cage/Chain Lightning/Frost Step/ Barrier

I'm willing to test other builds, but I kind got used to all four of them.

I like running a close range Keeper -- it's not the most effective, but I like the hectic fun of being up close.  I'd Barrier the group, then go into the fray with the tanks and cast Disruption Field.  Move back a bit out of the bubble and use Fade Cloak and you can stand still for quite a while before being forced to move.  This lets you use Winter Stillness and Gathering of Storms for really fast cooldowns.

So it's Barrier, Disruption Bubble, and Fade Cloak, all upgraded, with the last skill up to taste.

For my usage it's a toss up between Chain Lightning and Frozen Step.  Chain Lightning is the most versatile, as it's useful on both ranged and melee attackers and provides decent damage and minor shock control.  Frozen Step is especially nice for getting in and putting down Disruption Field on the dangerous archers, and for repositioning when both Fade Cloak and DF are on cooldown.  Static Cage is so nice, but does too little against Ranged attackers.  Veil Strike does too little for its long cool down to do much.

Lately, I've been guilty of playing around with Mind Blast as the fourth skill.  I say guilty, because it leaves this build too weak against ranged attackers.  However, it's pretty fun against melee guys that unfairly bee-line toward the Keeper.  Especially nice is using it to combo after Mana Surge freezes a group trying to mob you.  Too bad Mind Blast doesn't have any effect on projectiles; it'd actually make this a very viable defensive build.

If Mind Blast was effective against projectiles Keeper could solo Perilous ;) But seriously, the archers will not bee-line towards so the only way is to bee-line toward them - Frost Step. And while its possible to interrupt them with Mind Blast I would not recommend this on Keeper as it does not have Death Siphon and if Barrier is on cd to aggro archers could be deadly. Since you use Disruption Field, what happens if you cast the bubble on group of archers? Can they shoot out of the bubble?

I think lightning bolt isn't amazing, but there have been times where it's been darn strong. I've crit for 2000 - completely wiping out a rage demon/fear demon several times.

I think one of my favorite builds its barrier/static cage/disruption field/veil strike (or chain lightning).

Also, anyone find it awesome that disruption field slows down arrows? SO cool to see an arrow about to hit your face then stop completely in front of you.

My last Keeper run through had Barrier, Frost Step, Veilstrike, and Energy Barrage. I had a blast with it and even took that build into perilous and still kicked ass. I was gonna do it again on my next run with the keeper but I finally got a Static Cage ring, so I think I will go the more traditional route again again, maybe with better gear, I will enjoy it more.

Support/Control Keeper

Barrier, Chain Lightning, Veilstrike, Lightning Cage

The mana recharge on weakened enemies is necessary to be able to cast all your spells since they are all quite expensive..

You have the 3 important barrier traits.

Between Beilstrike, L Cage, Barrier, and Guardians Spirit, you shouldn't need Fadestep or Fadecloak, just keep your distance from enemies and abuse Winters Stillness.

You put out a decent amount of AoE damage.

Veilstrike + Chain L + Restorative Veil will put you back at full manage, add in Winters Stillness and Disturbance of spirit and you should be able to drop your big AoE spells as often as they come off cooldown.

Your cast cycle should look like this:
Veilstrike > Chain L > L Cage > Chain L (sliding barrier in as needed).

Going this route, up to Restorative Veil (without Twisting Veil) leaves Keeper without points for Reinforced Barrier (10% damage resistance) and more importantly Guardian Spirit (auto Barrier on low health) and also without decay reduction or damage return passives from Protection tree.

Just saying, because it is not apparent from the post and is of notice.

I don't get why so many people don't run Disruption Field on their keepers. I consider it just as mandatory as barrier on perilous. If the description said "Place a bubble around your character that deflects all incoming projectiles for 10 seconds and slows down any enemy that enters the area." I guarantee it would be mandatory. Its can be 10 seconds of complete immunity to archer attacks for all the rangers in your party. What other abilities are more valuable than this on perilous?

I build my Keeper with Spirit Mark. Joe Davola agrees it's the only way to cruise on Perilous.

I've been focusing on barriers/lightning/ veil strike. I'm level 19 and do really well (threatening) I'm able to cast barriers frequently and can cause sum aoe damage if a warrior or rogue gets surrounded.

Completely ignored fade step and fade cloak, useful in story mode but doesn't really provide much for MP. I have the stormbringer and static charge passives and of course guardian spirit. She seems to be pretty formidable with that build, however next time I'm choosing a slightly diff path. Screw mind blast and dispell I use those less and less and now realize they were a waste of points. :/

Does anyone know if the second evo of lightining bolt hits multiple enemies? The description is a little vague. Also does it work as a combo with dispel?

It's not really vague. Without the upgrade, there is a paralyze duration bonus for having nearby targets. The upgrade gives it a damage bonus, too. The only AOE is the knockback, unless it's bugged.

Yes, paralyze counts as incapacitated.

Barrier

Chain Lightning

Frost Step

Lightning Cage

Barrier is the main thing.  Chain Lightning + basic attack with staff is enough damage.  Lightning Cage for crowd control.  Frost Step for mobility and to easily put myself in position to cast Barrier on myself + team.
