I loved the Hissing Wastes (except for the flies)

The flies lmao

I would instinctively swat my ear whenever I heard the flies. It was so realistic.

Hissing wastes is a beautiful map, My favourite map by far. No clutter, openess of a desert, allows me to forget about stuff. This map is an example of good design.

Yeah, I love it too.  So wonderfully open and gorgeous.

Also, people should bring Cole with them to the Hissing Wastes and watch as he explains what stars are.

The sound of flies in DA2 had me swatting around my head.  :P We live in the dry, high, desert and I'd hear those fly sounds in my headphones and think we'd been attacked by a huge swarm, in our house. Got me every time.

To be honest, this should be my favourite map - The place isn't a bloody maze. LOL

The only map I genuinely enjoyed playing.  Breathtaking.  A place to actually use your mount.  Great level design.  Interesting puzzles with the dwarven settlement.

Now if they could just bomb The Exalted Plains from orbit.  Just to be safe.

I hardly ever used Cole in my first playthrough.  I'll have to take him along and see.  Thank you.

Well yeah the two best zones imo are Hissing Wastes and Empirise du Lion.  They both do what that are designed to do very well.

I prefer the Hissing Wastes to rocky regions like the Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Emprise du Lion, and others.

At least you can see where you're going and make a Bee-line for your destination. You aren't constantly obstructed by steep cliffs, hills, mountains, gorges, or ravines, forced to hug a hill or mountain trying to find a way up or around, forced to search forever for some obscure hidden path to get up or around some mountains, forced far out of your way because the ravine or river you're going down is suddenly curving away from your destination.

I HATE searching around DAI mountainous regions.

I was on a mission to grab every camp in the game, and I enjoyed galloping across the Hissing Wastes from camp to camp immensely, even if I didn't really do much else there.

That's a lot of unnecessary words just to say that you like the emptiness and lack of quest markers in the Hissing Wastes. Good for you.

Ahhh, the Hissing Waste. When I first got there, I opened up the quest map and noticed how close all the camps were to one another. "Oh, this place is quite small," I said to myself...

WRONG! The camps aren't close to one another because the Hissing Waste is small, they just look close because the entire quest map is zoomed out. And the quest map is zoomed out because the whole thing is freaking ginormous. I didn't realize this until I was midway between my first camp and second one. No matter how much or how long I ran, that eye thing just would not come any closer. Ugh... the horror. *shudder*
