I just want people to know what to do if this happens to them, since I couldn't find much about this problem when I searched. I found one thread about the same issue on another forum but there was no real solution posted, just advice about removing mods that might be problematic.
I encountered a glitch when Wynne collapsed after a random encounter (as she's supposed to for the Wynne's Regret quest line). When the cutscene happened, the graphics went completely bonkers and I couldn't see much. Conversation options popped up, though, so I took them - but when it was over, the graphics problem remained. It was so bad that there was nowhere to click and no immediate way out of it. I reloaded, but any time I clicked on her afterwards, the glitch would happen again.
I went through troubleshooting and wasn't having much luck when I decided to go back to an old save to see if the glitch was there. I was in Redcliffe and the problem occurred when I tried it there. I noticed that there seemed to be confusion caused by being outside - afterwards, it looked like the characters were standing in the lake instead of on dry ground. So I went inside the nearest building, the tavern, and tried again.
The cutscene was borked but once the conversation was over, the graphics corrected themselves and everything continued normally. I can talk to Wynne again without any problem. This just served to remind me how much I am growing to love her!
