Actually, get a berserk item -- the game will get a lot harder. The 20% bonus damage, 200% damage taken is probably the best for it.
This game is so easy it's impossible to enjoy.

I don't mind easy games if the story is good, i.e. Kotor 1, FFX, or Halo campaign. But there is probably only 10-12 hours of ACTUAL story in this game and 40+ hours of mindless filler. This game plays like an mmo, so it's right for us to want some difficult bosses.

This is not a game to play if all you're interested in is challenge. I play the DA series for the stories and the companions. If you want a challenge, play a Souls series game or, better yet, play a first generation console side-scroller where you have only three lives. Pick up Contra and Battletoads.

Most games don't even have 10-12 hours of gameplay at all, so 10-12 hours of storyline is hardly something to complain about.
Lets put it in context.
"This game barely has as much storyline as the entire lord of the rings trilogy"
I remember people complaining about how those movies were too short.

This game plays like an mmo
The only thing I can find in DAI that is common in mmo and rare in single player rpg is the third person perspective and casting spells with hotkey. (I don't play mmo so I coulda missed sth) Looting, leveling up and having multiple maps does not make an rpg mmo.

I would love more difficulty if it meant more situations where you need to make crucial tactical choices and plans, rather than having to press my button faster to dodge out of the way for the fireball that will otherwise kill me...
That would likely have been the case if AI programming is better. But the technology is just not there yet, you can't blame devs for that.

I never know how to interpret these "nightmare is too easy!" posts because they all leave out a critical detail: was friendly fire turned on or off?
Of course combat will be easy if you can taunt everything then drop AoE (or place a mine) on your own head.
(not to mention, there are plenty of ways to get a challenge beyond turning FF on, like soloing fights or attacking enemies while undergeared/underleveled)
Unfortunately friendly fire is a poor mechanic and as far as I am concerned used in the absence of improved AI or encounter scripting (exasperated by the very poor companion AI). FF isn't a big deal, you just build with single target abilities and FF is a moot point. The other things you mention could apply to any difficulty level (go naked with sub optimal weapons in normal)... they are synthetic options used to promote a poor difficulty setting and/or lack of overall challenge (the game unfortunately feels like it missed out on several months of Q&A). Personally for me, the issue is a blatant lack of tactical combat caused by the absence of the healing tree and/or a dedicated support tree... and then add in the healing potion guzzle mechanic to compensate. So we end up with a single player version of GW2, and its failed dps is all that matters... which results in boring encounters of whack a mole. I'm trying to enjoy the game at the moment by creating a support build, based around the KE's Resurgence and cheery picking passives and ability (I'll see what happens in a few more levels) not using Spirit Blade or high damage spells (what is incredibly poor however, is, I should need to do this in an rpg to begin with, especially a BW game where diversity of choice once mattered, now I'm creating a hotchpotch character that feels a tad artificial).

You could decide to play with only 1 companion, or go solo, or play without crafting any weapons (or any armor, or no crafting at all), or drink half the potions right after leaving camp (or all of them, and play all of the fights with no potions), or not using any specialization skills...
You have multiple ways of making the game harder, it's up to you to use them or not.

Adding Berserk items is the best. That way you don't have to limit yourself so much.

Btw an easy way to make game more hardcore would be:
- Add Ironman (aka permanent death) mode. Some achievements only for this mode to make it a little bit more rewarding
- Built in solo switch in the game - you still pick companions, but they disappear during combat (still available for cutscenes and dialogue, so you don't miss out by going solo). All DA games were soloable, so why the hell not. Also, achievements for beating the game this way without turning it off. I would prefer the game that would be impossible to solo though.
This would add some challenge, but still won't fix the issue of the game being tactically shallow. That would require AI and encounter overhaul.
No...please don't make them think that they can trick us into thinking we´re having more fun by using the "achievement" mechanic...there should be only one achievement available for games - completing them!

Well, this is not new, although your build is one of the more optimized. Tbh the game is already retarded easy after level 10 or so with non crafted gear.

My point exactly. If they were gonna allow us to do this they could've at least given us higher hp mobs. By my estimation I'm doing 500k+ or close to it with a single Thousand Cuts.

You can still solo the game with 2h warrior and it would probably be easier than origins 2h solo even though in origins you could chug potions like crazy.

I used a Reaver warrior and nightmare was effortless. Fights were so trivial I just randomized my party in an attempt to gain some enjoyment. Beat the game without a tank, that's how bad it was. Impossible for Vivienne or Blackwall to ever die and my guy deals insane damage just holding down dragon rage.
I wouldn't mind how easy the game is (nearly all Bioware games require no effort to beat), but the story was rubbish so I needed SOME difficulty. This game was ALMOST as easy as Skyrim.. that's how bad it is.
I have heard that so many things were OP on nightmare: Knight Enhancer, crafting, tempest, artificer, Champion. Maybe instead of calling players out for being "cheap", is it my fault I found a tier 3 masterwork greatsword within 20 mins of going to the Hissing Wastes, and instead call out the game itself. There was absolutely no challenge in this game, and now I'm level 23 and have beaten it and have already sold it back to Gamestop. Done with bioware.
Thats funny for me to read because I am only able to play on easy, I tried to play on normal once and the fights were so challenging and taking so long and I kept running out of heals I gave up and went back to easy again. ![]()
I don't mind though; easy is just right for me! ![]()

Seen vids of 2h dragon solo, you can look it up yourself, have no time to try it myself since I'm done with this game and only here to ****** on forums from time to time. Anyway once you hit certain level of gear quality you're invincible.

You came to a story driven Bioware RPG looking for an epic challenge? Wtf?
Story driven? we must of been playing different games. The one I finished took about 120 hours to complete a 25 hour story. Thats about 95 hours of non story gameplay as I don't consider finding a note on the ground asking me to find a key and return it to someone story content.
Back on topic this is the first game I've beat on a nightmare mode and it was no harder than normal mode except the battles took a little longer to complete. I only tried nightmare as they had an achievement for and I wanted as many acehivements as possible on my first play-through.
Telling someone they shouldn't expect a challange from nightmare mode in any game is just wtf???? crazy
