Recently on twitter, I've noticed that Elias Toufexis (Adam Jensen from Deus Ex Human Revolution) currently follows a few key people working on the next Mass Effect, like Yanick Roy, Mac Walters, Aaryn Flynn and Chris Schlerf. Not only that, but he himself is followed by Caroline Livingstone, the voice over director for Bioware. This got me thinking, maybe Elias Toufexis will be voicing our new male hero? or maybe I'm just reading too much into it :P Thoughts?

It's certainly possible! It's also possible they just happen to be friends, but I could totally see him being offered the part. So long as we treat this as the rampant speculation it is there's no harm in entertaining the thought. Good find. :)

It wouldn't be a surprise, considering his past work. Nice detective work, regardless of whether it ends up being an accurate conclusion.

I don't know if his voice would be a good fit for a blank character. He did a great job for Deus Ex HR but it was Adam Jansen it was different Adam was a real character, I would want a neutral voice for ME4.

I never asked for this.

Just kidding this is great. Loved his work in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. We'll see what happens :)

That would be an excellent choice for the male protagonist.

Also protagonists in the Mass Effect series have never been a blank slate. They've had defined backstories and to a certain extent some defined personality traits that the player can't alter. A blank slate protagonist is what you get in an Elder Scrolls game.

I hope not, unless he changes his style. While I think he does a good job as Jensen and Kobin, he's very recognizable as the same person, and his vocal range is very small. Sounds like he's whispering half the time, and his "yell" is not very loud.

He has a very distinctive voice, so distinctive I think it might actually work against him if he were to voice the lead in a BW game.  I loved his Adam Jensen, especially when he got to be snarky in The Missing Link DLC, but I see him more as a Garrus than a Shepard.  But regardless, I'd love it if it's true.

He is certainly recognizable, but then so was Jennifer Hale. So long as he plays the part well (assuming he is a ME VA of course), I don't think that would work against him.

True that. I would never have picked up on the fact that Bastila Shan from KOTOR and femshep are the same voice actress until I saw the credits. Depends on how the part is played and the talent of the actor/actress, but thankfully that last part is rarely an issue in Bioware games  :)

I really like his voice, so I would not be opposed. Now, I'd love to get some solid info on the voices of both genders.

I didn't realize she was Krem until a friend pointed it out to me.  Before that, I suspected Krem was voiced by a woman, but I never suspected her.

Claudia Black would be my pick.

Assuming scheduling & cost isn't an issue of course.

Yeah, she's very good. Meers is insanely good at changing his voice. Some here say they immediately recognized Krem's VA, but I sure didn't.

So long as she kind of veers away from Morrigan voice, I'd go for it.

Claudia always sounds the same, to me. I absolutely love her voice, but it's incredibly distinctive and always recognizable.

That doesn't mean she would be a bad choice. I've enjoyed her work in lots of games. I say, "Oh, it's Claudia Black!", and smile. Then I forget the VA and enjoy the character.

She seems to be a bit like Jennifer Hale or Mark Meer in being able to alter her voice for different roles. I would have never known she voiced Matriarch Aethyta if I hadn't seen it posted here.

Wow. I had no idea. She can alter her voice quite a bit, I guess.

Now I wonder how many times I have been listening to her and not recognized it.

I totally forgot about that. She also voices Admiral Xen, but you can clearly recognize her there. She kinda speaks like Morrigan would set in a far off future in space.

Jennifer Hale may have been recognizable, but she had range. Bastila is way different than FemShep.
