Claudia Black is the one VA I want to be in the next game most. Particularly with a more prominent role (hopefully as a squadmate)

I hope not, unless he changes his style. While I think he does a good job as Jensen and Kobin, he's very recognizable as the same person, and his vocal range is very small. Sounds like he's whispering half the time, and his "yell" is not very loud.

I've seen him in Eureka and didn't recognize him, his Deus Ex voice and delivery is far from his neutral voice.

That being said, voice actors aren't allways needed for their range, they can also be cast for their distinctiveness. E.g. Martin sheen wasn't asked to do anything but Martin Sheen.

Good spot OP, Elias Toufexis would be a good choice.  Personally I'd prefer him voicing a companion/squadmate but that's just my opinion and I certainly wouldn't complain if he was cast to voice BroNotShep.  Claudia Black?  Most definitely, after reading the credits for ME3 I was surprised to see she voiced Matriach Aethyta (my own fault for having watched too much Farscape).

When was the last time that Bioware asked a voice actor for their semi-blank slate character to do a distinctive voice? In this case, it's hardly optimal.

Was Martin Sheen playing a semi-blank slate character? When did I speak about Toufexis voicing our character? I think you read too much specifics into my very general post.

Haha I wasn't really stalking  I follow all the people I mentioned and was just checking their twitters for any new Mass Effect info, when I noticed that Elias followed them all.

That guy did an amazing job for "Deus Ex Human Revolution" but I think his voice would fit a squad mate better than the player's character.

To be fair, I hope not. Voice work in Deus Ex Human Revolution was not even close of that of Bioware games.

You mean what I mean? If then, what I meant is: the voice-acting in Bioware games are top notch, second to none in the industry. Deus Ex Human Revolution though, had a weak one in comparison.

I'm sure Bioware voice recording process is quite different and more demanding than that of Eidos Montreal (at the time of Deus Ex HR development). From my Deus Ex HR experience I believe his voice can support different intonations and convey different feelings well enough to meet those standards.

Wow, that is quite the catch. Very crafty, looking at these twitter connections and very plausible indeed.

 

Also, if this turns out correct, it would be good news. While I wouldn't necessarily put him in the role of the protagonist (I hope we get some not so well known and distinctive VA for that), I could definitely see him as a major NPC or squad mate.

 

If this is the case, I may be happy enough to do the Adam Jensen dance.

There is nothing extraordinary bad about DX:HR voiceacting I can recall and the main characters are very well done, too.

Maybe some not so good side chars?

I could see him as a Turian sqaddie.

Or a really bada$$ Batarian merc that is more for the "falcon punching" and less for the "save the galaxy" stuff with our character.

I'm hoping he'll voice a party member instead. He has a great voice, and did amazing work as Jensen, but I'd personally rather have someone who sounds less deep voice the protagonist.

I hope we get 2 (or more) voice options per gender (like DAI) and if one of them was Elias Toufexis, I could get on board with that.
