Hi guys,

i got pretty annoyed with holding down the RMB all the time to look around and i remembered something from the "The Secret World" forums.

http://forums.thesec...ead.php?t=39891

I copied the code but replaced "The Secret World" with "Dragon Age: Inquisition" and voila - works like a charm.

1 RMB click toggles mouselook on, the next click will toggle it off. To issue move comands in "tac-cam", just double click.

It really helps me with the basic character movement and hopefully a few of you fine folks can be helped with this, too.

icon3.gifSolution: Mouselook Toggle (Autohotkey)

Mouselook Toggle via Autohotkey

Current Version of the Script: 1.2 (Juli 7th 2012)

If you want to upgrade your control scheme from Doom 1 & 2 to the modern, mouselook-based control scheme of such recent games like Quake 1, you can do so by using the tool AutoHotKey. Here's what you need to do:

1. Download AutoHotKey and install it: http://www.autohotkey.com/ (it's free)

2. Create a new, empty text file. Open it in notepad.

3. Copy & paste all the text from the box below into your text file

4. Rename your textfile to mouselook.ahk

5. Double-click mouselook.ahk to start the script

An icon showing an "H" with green background appears in your system tray while the script is running. To stop it, right-click that icon and select Exit.

While the script is running, right-clicking once counts as holding down the right mouse button, clicking again counts as releasing it. Thus, you can toggle mouse-look on and off in the game with a single click, instead of having to hold down the right mouse button for 1 hour and 55 minutes during a 2 hour play session. Instead of steering you character like some kind of tank, you can naturally look around like moving your head in the real world. You can even pull of exciting moves like strafing and turning at the same time, e.g. to circle around enemies while attacking.

Important: If you want to do anything that usually requires a single right-click (e.g. using a health potion or equiping a new weapon) you have to perform a right-double-click instead! If you're using version 1.2, a single right-click while holding Alt will also do the trick.

Have fun playing with feasible controls! biggrin.gif

For anyone looking for an easier way to mouselook, there are a few different options. Although the "Improved PC control scheme" script program at Nexus Mods is a wonderful tool for helping to improve DAI flawed UI, some people can't get it to work. Turn out that Windows has a built feature which can, in a way, allow you to turn mouse look on and off fairly easily.

Just go to your mouse properties in control panel and enable "click lock".  This allows you to hold any mouse button for a predefined period of time and have it remain clicked until you click again. It's not a perfect solution, but for those of you with issues running this tool, hopefully this might be a helpful alternative. Just remember to turn off when you exit the game. I had my interval set pretty short and I found myself accident highlighting and dragging anything and everything I clicked.

Also, I tried using mouse keys, but it didn't work as well. Fastest way to try it out is to press "ctrl-alt-num lock" and then click yes. Mousekeys can then be toggled on and off by pressing the num lock key. With Mouse Keys turned on, you can press the numpad 0 button to toggle holding down the mouse button. To hold down the right mouse button, press the numpad minus button and then press numpad 0. It works but just barely, cause it's kind of a pain to have to reach over to the numpad and press 0 every time you want to mouse look... anyway... here's hoping patch 3 will be released soon with some major ui improvements. More than likely though, it will be a while before it's released, at which point we PC players will more than likely be shafted again.
