Does anyone know where I need to go to pick up higher stat mercenary coats? It's the only rogue armour that my elf has shoulders in and since I can't stand to look at him when his all shoulderless and stick insecty, I seem to be stuck in them if I want to play a male elf rogue. Which I do.

 

I know I can get the Dalish armour and I have the prospect of In Death Sacrifice after Crestwood, but until then I'm stuck in a 43 merc coat and even at lvl 8 using a bow (rolled him as melee) it's starting to hurt lol!  Plus I don't know if he'll look any good in those armours anyway.

 

I've seen the elite coats courtesy of the very kind Xhaiden but they don't remember where they picked them up...does anyone out there know?

I think that Elite Mercenary Coat is a static loot of a chest since I remember always getting it. Now the tricky part is that I don't remember exactly were. I remember it was in a chest inside a cave most likely either the cave beside the astrarium cave in Crestwood or some cave in the Western Approach. I'm sorry I can't be of any more help. Good luck.

 

PS I'm also aware I said the word cave far to many times

 

EDIT If you are going for shoulders though there is a mail variant of the prowler's armor in the Hillsing Wastes vendor under the Upgrades category. It's nothing special stat wise (+12% magical defense I think) and I don't know how it will look on a male elf but there you have it.

If you are still looking I confirmed the Elite Mercenary Coat is in a chest inside the cave just after the mines in the Western Approach. The cave I'm talking about is th one with the landmark in it across the ladder that has the codex with the quote from Origins. Hope that helps.
