Here and here.
Sorry the Archon screen is from before the patch that let us rotate in the item window.
Cheers. Unfortunately neither look anywhere near as good as the First Enchanter staff. Best be sticking with that then
I think Chardonney means the Cradle of Sulevin, you can farm most tier 3 schematics there.
Not necessarily. When I tried to look for info about this staff, the players on those sites I stumbled upon kept talking about Elven Ruins. Nothing more specific than that and there are several elven ruins in the game. I haven't been able to get this staff from Sulevin and it left me wondering if they maybe meant the "Investigate the elven ruins" quest.
EDIT: Well, it wasn't that quest, either.
I didn't want to start another thread for this small question. Does anyone know where I can find the schematic for and/ or the Staff the Orsino uses in Dragon Age 2? I've seen some videos with players using the staff (Not to mention Dorian is shown with it in numerous promotional material) but I have beaten the game and I've never come across it.
It's the mage staff the head of which is three serpents.

Darn it! Almost 500 hours in this game and still have never found the Masterwork Mortalitasi Staff, has anyone actually found it and where?

Still looking. Another thread about it here: http://forum.bioware...-about-farming/

I don't think it is obtainable without the cheat engine on PC.
I don't think it been made farmable, so ether it not been activated in the game like the tevinter longsword or there is a very specifics wartable mission/result needed to actually get it.
Kind of sad that you can't make anything but a fire staff with Dragon Bone. Is there any way to make something about as powerful as this with Ice or Spirit damage or do you find something later?

There is Yavanalis with high frost damage, but the stats are crap. http://dragonage3.wi...e.com/Yavanalis
You can craft the Seer Staff http://dragonage3.wi...Staff Schematicand just go with T3 mats for other elemental damage. It will be inferior to Dragon Bone, but since the game isn't that challeging at the late game, it doesn't matter much.

Then I wonder why some people claim to have farmed it from the elven ruins?

Well, one can claim many things on the internet. As long as I don't see an actual screen of someone looting it from a chest or a character using it on consoles, I would take such "I found it there" posts with a truckload grain of salt.

True enough. I just hope that this is one of the big bucket of problems that BW will hopefully fix.
The Seer Staff seems to have the most optimal stat potential... at least for my desired stats! Gimme crit chance and crit damage galore! The Seer Staff is unmatched in potential for those stats as far as I can tell.
seer staff does seem the best slot wise tho i prefer the grand enchanters staff for the skin

Model wise I find the unique Tyrdda staff to look the best (the intertwining serpents biting the gem). I wish we could craft a staff with the same model. As far as crafted staves go I like the look of the Archon staff the best.

I found it in one playthrough. It's called Staff of Corruption, Item lvl 19, unique Staff, and does 61 electricity damage but I don't remember where or how I got it. Only that it was rather late in the game, might have been a dragon drop.
Oddly, that was just a basic staff model back in Origins/Awakening. You get it from Calpernia in Temple of Mythal. Doesn't matter if you fight her or let her go.
You need to do Champions of the Just to have her and Venatori be the main bad guys in the game.
Mortalitasi Staff (T3 Staff)

Utility 8 Cloth
Utility 6 Cloth

Some guy posted the pictures at Tumblr.
WTF is with the tentacles?
I remember reading from several different sites that it can be farmed from Elven Ruins.

I swear the only schematics the game feels like giving me are daggers and two-handed swords.

Yeah, I got really sick of that. I suspect it's simply the fact that mages can only use staffs whereas a 2H for instance can use greatswords, mauls and warhammers. There are simply more schematics in the loot tables to cover each type of weapon. When I finally rolled a DW rogue, I found it just as frustrating finding single blade dagger schematics when I wanted dual-bladed weapons.
