You're allowed to have an opinion and others are allowed to disagree.  How they show that disagreement says a lot.  They can be encouraging, inviting, or admonishing. You are also allowed to ignore admonishments because as RuPaul says, "other people's opinions of me are none of my business".

And I would agree if this weren't the Feedback section.  I only joined because I had respawning bears and wanted to rant.  That's what this is for.  Its how EA gets away with not having a customer service desk.  They "encourage you" to use the forums.

They also encourage people not to start multiple threads about the same topic, but to contain the discussion to one thread.  That keeps everything in the same place.  I'd suggest letting the big thread continue to live and moving the conversation there.  We don't need two of these going at once.

Who is "we"?  See everyone how that works?  It's antagonistic to ask someone reflexively to not speak of you as a generalized collective.

Yes, yes, I hear you but at the same time when you contact Bioware and actually get someone on the phone they refer you here, and if they refer you here instead of putting an agent to your query then they deal with the consequences of people doing what this OP is doing.  If they were overly concerned about duplicate threads they'd make the search function more dynamic.

If I seem grouchy, it's because I am.  This forum is very uninviting to people and a great deal of bullying occurs by people who are "over it".  I have never been able to deal with that well.  It stopped being cute way before high school.

Why do "they" need drama?  If they need it they shouldn't require the people playing to pay money for the game so those people can play it.  They are writing for the players.

Drama is part of the definition of the genre. And it is impossible for them to write for all players.

You could say, "You know, i disagree, here's why:..."

I did.

but you chose to tell her first not to speak for you

Actually, I did not.

(that was harsh for an opener)

I will grant you this point. It was.

and then basically schooled her on how she put it and what's wrong with her opinion.

I didn't school anyone on anything. And you were the one who said she was wrong:

She's wrong.

I don't see an "I disagree with you because" in there, but I guess your rules only apply to others, and not you.

I find that overly negative and unnecessary.

I find the fact that you're accusing anyone else of being negative to be amusing, to say the least.

And your alt may feel free to have the last word. But don't be under the illusion that you're doing the OP any favours. She's been encouraged to participate in the discussion in the other thread, and she did a far better job of defending her opinion, and her post, than you did.

I think you might be getting a little too invested in this...  "we" would be the forum.  It's difficult to keep track of a discussion if it's going on in two different places at once.  So to make life easier for all of us participating in said discussion, it would be easier to have it in one place.

If I've been rude to you, I apologize.  I'm just giving an FYI on general forum policy.  It wasn't meant as an attack.   I don't think OP was offended at all by those of us who pointed her to the other conversation, but I apologize also if that came off as offensive to her.

Yes I was informed but as stated previously missed it due to my dyslexic condition. Ryzaki.  Also the search function wasn't very helpful either I didn't see it there.

It's not the best search function, but I can double-check the link for you: Here's the other thread

It was not offensive simply informative imo. I appreciated you pointing this out to me but as I stated earlier about my condition and agree with Zorbert the search not being helpful.

I created a second thread on the topic. I'm more interested in people's opinions on the topic of the thread rather than the grammatical construct of it also. I don't mind people disagreeing. I have not seen every single scenario of female romances in the game for all the characters just several for the same characters.

I thank Zorbert for coming to my defense and I appreciate the difference in opinion that both you and Jeremiah12LGeek have posted. I like multiple perspectives and prefer to see it as exactly that perspectives. :)

Yes Whitless256 posted it for me earlier I was happy to see it and have begun following it. :) I am still getting used to this site so I don't want to delete this thread just yet. I do appreciate you sharing it though as well as your opinions.

I just want to chime in (although I'm explicitly aware of how straight people and newbs to this forum are bashed) that it is refreshing to read a post with anything at all about "straight" sexuality not just being mobbed with anti-straight nonsense and then closed by a mod.

Umm..... if you're trying to set off one of those flame wars, this nonsense about "anti-straight nonsense" is a good way to start.

Thanks I really try to be as kind as I can. Hell I love the multitude of romances including Dorain MLavellan I also love Bull for the Bisexual party. I love the drama in my romances. I don't want the emotional roller coaster to be removed then it wouldn't seem real.

I just want the chance for happy endings or at least an ending that isn't blatant betrayal or doomed by death. Even if the ending is bittersweet. Kind of like the Cassandra romance if she becomes divine.

I think Solas is the perfect character for a male LI version of that. He is an elven god and in turn his duty may override his personal desires. As inquisitor Levallan can either choose to name a successor and follow him or choose to remain behind. That set of choices could come based off decisions on how you reacted to him leaving in the game. for example the ending where both choose to fulfill their roles could be lead from "I love you." However her following him could be from "I believe in us."

I just think that the three dialogue options give me hope for the future of that romance which to me had the deepest impact for female straight characters. My friends agreed even after the one adored Blackwall but she said while she admired his ability to face his past mistakes that Solas had been doing it far longer and in turn has more depth and meaning to the romance.

Hello? What's your view on this particular post topic? I am curious about your standpoint. I don't speak for anyone but myself. My friends have added their own spins on here. What did you think of the storyline for the romances in general?

I've posted a lot in the other thread about this, so I'll just add my opinions here too -

Bioware certainly seems to give the female players a harder time in the romance department. Would like to see a few more happy endings in the future!

Although the first post talks a lot about characters that aren't LIs....

That's the second reference to something that wasn't actually said.

Also, since the conversation actually went quite well, any particular reason your jimmies are all rustled?

I was just using some teasers/fanservice in both Dragon Age and Mass Effect that I noticed. I know alot of ppl wanted Varric and Joker to be options but never happened. If you played ME3 You would know where my rant about Kal'Reegar came from in regards to his death lol.

I just mentioned them mostly because I think they would have made great LI's but weren't given the chance. They are the humorous characters that could be both funny and insulting at the same time and still charm the pants off of you.

However there was a lot of rough road for the Straight Female Character LI's. I'm all about the drama for a storyline. In the event that the character has multiple paths to pursue. Some may lead to bad endings but there is a chance for the better one. :)

Mass Effects 2 and 3 aren't the best examples, because they all eventually have the same ending - for all genders. In the end, everybody's Shep dies.

Err...

No ?

No not all female LI's end in tragedy and heartbreak but several of them do. In our Blackwall run my friends and I didn't see them get back together and we never made the selection to break off the relationship either...odd maybe a glitch?

Has to be a glitch because I just finished the game again (with Blackwall as LI) and they got back together

and stayed together even after the credits.

Spoiler

Doesn't seem like a heartbreak romance - more like a heartbreak glitch

Although I don't agree with all of the things you posted, seeing as some characters you listed weren't even romances, I did start a similar thread here:

Please Make Fewer Heartbreak Romances for Women
