So on my first playthrough I spared Iron Bull's men and lost the Qunari alliance. I believe on my 2nd playthrough I did the opposite.

I am just wondering is Iron Bull happier that he is now consider a Tal-Vashoth for sparing his men or back under the Qun?

For me it just feels right to save his men.

The whole fight seems ridiculous because I fight hordes of Venatori's and the guys on the Storm Coast didn't seem that different. I mean we could have assisted Iron Bull's men. I mean if four guys can take out a High Dragon than 6 or 8 Venatori's shouldn't of been difficult.

I did the exact same thing in both of my completed play throughs.

Saving the mercs seems the better decision, but a crack merc squad should have stomped the venatori, I guess Bull was carrying the team.

I don't think I'm capable of making an inquisitor cold blooded enough to sacrifice the chargers, lol

Any commander or leader worth their salt would have sacrificed a few mercenaries for such an Alliance.

Yes, because it's perfectly okay to sacrifice the multitude of people manning the Dreadnaught.

I can't sacrifice the chargers. I tried... couldn't succeed.

I see the benefits for gaining the alliance but it was Iron Bull's family in a way. They don't have families in the Qun.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Your inability to put aside your personal feelings in such a situation compromises your ability to command. You are unfit to lead.

Ha.

Maybe.

But that's just not my style... I liked the chargers. They were drinking buddies. So the Qun can go... you know what.

Bull hates being a Tal vashoth but he always knew he was one. if you hear his banter with verric after you save the chargers he speaks about how he is what he hates and verric points out that he was already a tal vashoth he jsut didnlt want to admit it..later bull says that the qun was all that kept him in check and verric says he will keep him in line.so for me it seems Bull is more himself with the chargers then when he is with the Qun.

That's fine, luckily this game is fantasy and nobody will call you out for letting at least 20 men die and sacrificing one of the strongest naval alliances in Thedas so you could save your drinking buddies.

I chose the Qunari Alliance. That alliance is to me is important on so many levels. It is not worth jeopardizing over Merc group. Now granted in DA4 Bioware will prob make this decision mean nothing. It will be a non-story.

The Chargers.

The Qunari can't be trusted. You give them an inch they'll take a mile and then some.

Lol, Bull's men all the way, I will not do anything that can be considered Aiding the Qun.  They are too dangerous to help out, in any way, and anyone who doesn't realize this is short-sited and naive.

Except that my Inquisitor didn't want anything to do with the Qun. She considers the qunari enemies and doesn't trust them. Even so, she thought she couldn't afford to refuse such an offer, but would only take it if it didn't cost her anything significant. Turns out it would cost her something significant - namely a company she came to trust - so she took the excuse to refuse with relief.

I saved the Chargers because i drank and spoke to them. How could i send them to their deaths, anyway i didnt even need the qunari and it probs wont matter in the future anyway

I could never trust the Qun.an alliance now might be good for the short term but their end goal is to bring all nations under the Qun. saveing the chargers keeps bull and them loyal to the Inquisition a more effective long term gain.

So again, your personal feelings get in the way of logic.

I judge you as unfit to lead Ieldra!

Bull feels more at peace being in the qun, but is treated by the others far better if he becomes Tal Vashoth.

Based on some dialogue with him, he equates being TalVashoth as being mad like those he fought in Seheron and desperately wants to prove he isn't like them.

It's interesting, to say the least. I think what's better for him personally is saving his men. I think what's better for the Inquisition is gaining the alliance of the Qunari. It's a good quest in my opinion.

That's the beauty about these games...

Even though you take on a "leader" role, you can still be irresponsible, selfish, illogical and make poor decisions based on personal feelings.

Ironically its also one of the games greatest shortcomings. Choices do not matter.

I felt bad for letting the Dreadnought fail.. I wanted to see what happens to Bull if I let the Chargers die but I didn't reload. As for as Bull with the Chargers, he doesn't seem all that broken up about the Qunari. He seemed okay even with assassination attempts. He doesn't like being call Tal-*******vashoth though. Lol.

Yeah that whole incident with Dragon Age 2 and the Qunari. It probably best not to have the Qun as allies.
