Noticed that Sera can wear Human-only restricted type armor and Elf only restricted type armor.  Not sure if anyone else has noticed this.  It should be fixed not game breaking but still.

I didn't get this "error"... for me she can't wear gear that requires the elf trained trait either.

Sera uses a human female body mesh, not elf female. The human/dwarf/elf restricted armour only have meshes for those specific races listed. Sera can't use an elf body mesh because, technically, she isn't an elf.

Hmm, I had always thought it was because in-game, Sera was never really 'trained' by elves.

Sera hates anything "elfy" anyways, makes sense.

Raised by a human so wearing human armor...? Or something lkke that.

Race exclusive armors in a game with multiple races and scarce armor variety is stupid regardless.. but they do love using lame work arounds on key issues.

Not an error/bug.  At least by the game logic, since Sera was raised by humans, and rejects elves.  However, it does seem strange, that if she is an elf, and the armor was made to fit an elf, why she could not use something that should reasonably "fit" her.  I can see, if the gear was heavily enchanted by elves and could only be used by those that understand those enchantments.  But there seems to be many non-magic using elves, that have not been trained in the old ways (since they have been forgotten), that have no problem wearing elven gear.  Seems to be a bit of trying to make Sera a special exception, to underscore her rejection of her elven heritage.

She was raised by humans and hates elven culture stuff, this isn't a bug. That's how she is.

Unless all races canonly have the same body type i doubt fitting only X race is a real reason.

It's not 'human only', it's 'human trained' only.

Okay, well the Qunari that you can be isn't Qunari trained because he is an out cast never grew up in the Qunari life so he shouldn't be able to use any of those Qunari-trained face paints.  Same with the dwarfs ect..

In game story reason, Sera dislikes elf and doesn't want to associate with elf, so in her mind, just because she's elf doesn't mean she should wear elf clothes. Design reason, Sera uses human body type. Elf body and human body elf are different. They didn't make elf armor with human bodies. If she were to wear it, her body would suddenly shrink down. That is why Solas can be shown to wear elf rogue armors even if he's a mage, but you can't see it with Sera because there is no model for elf armor in human female's body.

What was the game designer logic, that decided that since Sera rejected things "elfy", that she should have a human physique?  I had not really thought about it before, but yeah, her body does not quite look as elf like as other female elf NPCs in the game.  She most certainly have an elven physique/body model, unless she is 1/2 elf, or 3/4 human.

Still think its a bug otherwise that means if a dwarf hates dwarfs and like elfs then he can wear elf armour but not dwarf armor the logic is stupid.

Not a bug, according to Bioware replying via Facebook.

Sera is "human trained," raised by humans, and has a human female body/mesh. All intentional.

A bug would be to let Sera wear elf armor and her body shrink or expand everything you switch out the elf armor.

So because you get trained as a human your body shape is different; explain that one?

somehow the genes change and you bud is bigger than a normal elf and you have human facial features and the only thing left that looks like an elf is the ears?

No, the animators just decided to give her a human body model.  Maybe it made cinematics easier, or they just wanted her to be tall.

I'm talking about the game design. Since Sera uses human body type, they can't give her elf armor because they didn't design elf armor for female human. Not sure what's so hard to get. Character model wise, Sera is a human with elf ear. Story-wise, she's an elf who doesn't want to wear elf stuffs. That's it. Either accept it or move on. The designers just don't want to waste cost for just one companion. Sera could either only wear non-specfic armors and limit her armor option or give her access to human options. For everything to make sense as well as not to limit Sera, they need to make human armors to specifically fit Sera's elf body on top of limiting her elf armors for her character's reasons. They go with human body to save cost altogether.

No I get it.  it's just the whole way they did it is retarded.

Something tells me that all City Elves are human trained or would wear the same type of armour as Sera, if we had the option to play a City Elf inquisitor... However, I can still see why they chose the Dalish Elf path.

The human-only armor is called "human-trained only." Since Sera was raised by humans and likely trained to fight with/like them, if she was trained by anyone at all, and doesn't care about anything "too elfy," she would be able to wear human-trained armor. =/

However in the game Sera states that nobody trained her she trained herself when you talk to her.  That would make is Sera-trained only :P

Sera is so racist, she refuses to even wear armor labelled elven.
