The complaints about her are unwarranted. It's pretty sad when I try to join a Threatening match with all my banners and titles decked out better than ANYONE in the room, and I get voted to be kicked at level 10 Alchemist when there's a level 3 Hunter with not a single vote on him...

It's the same as the people who complain about Assassin. You're either doing it wrong, or you need to prestige and make a new build.

With I Was Never Here, I absolutely wreck **** on Perilous. Having the best dagger in the game helps, but still, what really helps her is having Stealth up constantly. I also recommend Shadow Strike to reduce her other cooldowns. Then at that point it's up to you. Fire flask skittles, poison everywhere, doesn't matter.

All you need is that stealth to get behind mobs. Most of the time if something aggros you or you get perceived, you can kill whatever it is outright or run away out of trouble. Another reason why Shadow Strike is good is it makes them fly up in the air and knocks them down.

I think she must have better defenses than the Assassin because I feel like she can take a hit better, so it makes up for the damage loss, and she's got the access to crowd control.

I've never received a lobby kick vote on Threatening with anything. Maybe those people were just homophobes.

I got few kicks, mostly from people from top 10 or something.

I guess that I am not leet enough for playing with them.

I don't even know anymore. All I know is it does what I want it to do - cool down the OTHER abilities. I could swear though that it either isn't bugged for me, or I don't need it because I can just land the killing blow with something else.

The trick really is Stealth.  I have been playing a fair bit of Alchemist lately, and tearing it up on Threatening.  One of these days I will try Perilous, but I do agree with you OP, the Alchemist in the right hands is a beast (with funny lines).

I just struggle justifying Alchemist over Assassin.  It's definitely viable, particularly on Threatening (but can work in Perilous), but you give up so much damage for CC that's better done by a mage.

Shadow Strike is definitely bugged with I Was Never Here though.

This was in question? I remember these types of threads from the ME forums and the response was typically "anything is viable" you have people who can literally solo perilous with probably any character at low levels. The more relevant question is whether the class is optimal or not which some people care about. As for the kick you were probably kicked by those guys for a different reason. I have yet to see people kick in game based solely on class choice.

I love the Alchemist.

I don't like to take it up a gear until I've completed the basic build at around level 16.

But once it's there, stealthy flaming poisoned flank attacks of death.

How would you know what the reason was tha a bunch of randoms kick a person for? Not starting am argument or anything. Just saying, how do you know the reason anyone does anything if you're not talking to them? Anyway on topic, I haven't used my alchemist past level 6 so I can't comment.

It's true.

People have the most random reasons for kicking.

If one gets kicked, think nothing more of it and start a new game.

I like my Alchy. I've been experimenting with Tempest tree builds without Stealth for CC, Poison, self buff, and auto attack spam. I've got a superb Heal on Kill ring on though and it's really opening up some of these weaker builds.

I was on a an awesome PuG team of 1 Legionnaire, and 3 Alchemists. Team Dwarf was hilarious.

You are right I don't know for certain, but I remember people doing the same thing in ME3. People will kick for the absolutely weirdest reasons that make absolutely no sense.

I know the feeling.
I told a routine PUG to get bent yesterday before leaving myself after having 2 votes out of 3 bannerless children. This was my level 4 archer I just soloed routine demons with. I only play routine when I want to carry the new players in

i also sometimes get Kick-votes as Alchy.

I see there 2 reasons.

1. Alchys cause the keydrop bug, i think its the frost flask, or shatter combos.

2. Alchys strengh is mainly based on playerskill, so people dont know what they get.

Some are completly useless, otheres carry a team even on Perilous.

Alchemist is BA, she's one of my go to perilous classes. It's personal taste and play style though, not everyone likes the same stuff and that's cool.

that's just plain wrong. if shatter combos caused it people would be kicking archers and templars

Im currently playing my alchemist as a stealth, flask of frost and twin fangs user.

However, im undecided on my fourth skill.

Mines- are fun and benefit the team greatly when enemies are clustered.

Fire flask- could twin fangs all the things for a few seconds.

Toxic cloud- I've heard its a very valuable skill, have yet to try it.

I enjoy the tempest skills and her dialogue is great.

Nah, I heard it's not as good as the Mass Effect series, so I didn't bother.

I pretty much use the op build, mines, stealth on kill and fireflask to spam out mines and the cloak when enough ppl walked on them and repeat
