Sweet, just upgraded my rig and it looks like I'll be playing at highest settings with ease (1600p too). Now to wait until May. -_-

Last time I checked no multiplatform game requires 8 GB RAM at least, an 4 GB GPU and +- 25 Ghz worth of CPU :) The low end specs are pretty common, the recommended specs however are not

I don't meet recommended req (have GTX760).

But I did preorder the game the first day it was possible to preorder. And I'd do it again.

you do know that the GTX770 is nothing but a renamed GTX680...?

and ? a 670 is a renamed 580 and a 970 is a renamed 780. Good thing I upgraded to a 770 4 Gig last years. GTX 770 haven't dropped in price. They're still 330 $ CAD for the 2 gig version.

Ug .. Still have my I5 2500 K. Maybe will need to upgrade my cpu.

you´re talking sh*t. GTX580 is GF110 ("Fermi"), GTX670 is GK104 ("Kepler"), GTX780 is GK110 ("Kepler") and GTX970 is GM204 ("Maxwell").
GTX680 is GK104 with 1536 shaders and 256bit memory interface, and GTX770 is GK104 with 1536 shaders and 256bit memory interface too.

No.

A GTX 670 is not a renamed 580, same as a 970 is not a renamed 780. The GTX 580 is a GF110 chip (Fermi architecture). The GTX 670 is a GK104 chip (Kepler architecture). The GTX 780 is a GK110 chip (also Kepler architecture, but another chip). The GTX 970 is a GM204 chip (Maxwell architecture).

Nothing there is renamed, all of those GPUs are entirely different hardware.

The point DeathAngel008 made however is correct. A GTX 770 is a GK104 chip, the same GPU the GTX 680 uses. The only difference between a GTX 770 and a GTX 680 is that the former is slightly higher clocked.

This actually makes me kind of glad I couldn't afford to upgrade my PC for even DA:I. If I'd managed to scrape the money together to upgrade for that only to see this, inconsolable.

Given what they are going to deliver, the specs aren't that high. Not the min. specs anyway.

Interestingly enough when I upgraded, it wasn't so much for DA:I but for what I knew TW3 would demand to really get something out of the graphics.

Meet the min, but my GPU falls short of the recommended specs. But as I have been told that there may not be a Pause feature, this game is not a priority purchase. Still, I wish CP and the Dev team well; am a fan of GOG.

I wonder if people got complacent after how long the PS360 generation lasted and requirements stagnated.

Specs aren't that insane. I think the last 2-3 years have softened people up, with console specs holding back system requirements a little. For the first half of this console's lifecycle, we will see a decent ramping up of system requirements, where each new iteration of graphics cards will supposedly be necessary to play at maximum.

Blame a complete disregard for PC performance optimisation by most Western AAA devs (take a peek at MGSV and how nice and smooth it looks, that's properly optimised for the PC) as well as the pursuit of photo and hyper realistic graphics - a game of extremely small diminishing returns.

Not to mention the advent of 1440p and 4K gaming on the PC. Next couple of years will be rough if you want absolute cutting edge and must play every souped up AAA release at absolute maximum for e-peen status. IMO.

We're already seeing this on the CPU side, with some AAA releases no longer supporting dual core CPUs. Even though processors like the Pentium G3258 are more than powerful enough to get any game playable once it's overclocked.

Can't say if I need an upgrade or not...

Thoughts?

Main rig
Intel i7 2600K @ 4.67 GHZ
8 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X DDR3 RAM
GTX TITAN BLACK @ 971 MHZ CORE
OCZ Vertex 3 250 GB SSD and 2 TB Hitachi Deskstar 7200 RPM HDD

You're fine. Most games see the Titan Black perform in-between the GTX 970 and the GTX 980, both of which are more powerful than the recommended requirements.

And your overclock on the CPU ensures that it'll be fine for a while yet.

Not sure why you bought the Titan Black though. It's absurdly expensive purely for a gaming rig. Please tell me you use it for other things.

I got it from a friend for a massive discount plus a couple days' work in trade. He got it and didn't want it because he soon realized he could have better performance for less. I needed an upgrade from my GTX 580 and he came to me with an offer.

Well I'm probably going to get devoured by some of the PC players here for saying this but looking at the specs it probably makes more sense for me to get a PS4 than upgrading my PC to the sufficient level.

Whats your current PC specs? If your CPU is okay (Phenom II or newer), then all you'll need is a graphics card really.

If im playing at 1440p with a 780ti and a lightly overclocked i5 4670k what settings do you think I would get 50+ fps at?

High, probably not maxed. You'll need a 2nd 780ti for that probably.

When I upgraded my PC six months ago, a lot of people told me that getting an Intel i7-something CPU wouldn't be necessary for gaming (they said it would be overkill), so I got Intel i5-4690 @3.50Ghz instead. Should I never listen to other people again or is the difference not worth mentioning?

Argh same here! I built mine in October and was told I wouldn't need an i7 to handle new and upcoming RPG games. So I only have an i5-4590 @ 3.30GHz. Shet. T_T

As usual, it looks like my graphics card is holding me back.  If not for that, I'd be hitting the recommended, rather than minimum, requirements.

Then again, my computer was on the lower end of the recommended scale for Inquisition and I was still able to run that at a steady 50 FPS with a mixture of medium, low and high settings.

Honestly, I think you'll need 4 GB or vram to run this game on max and get 60+frames at 1080p. Games these day's are taking a TON of vram at max settings, they're eating that sh!t up like Chris Christie at a Cheese Cake Factory.

Nah, I'd need to upgrade my processor as well. Currently I've got a intel core 2 quad 2.33 ghz processor and I've got an ATI Radeon HD 4800 series graphics card.
