Just asking because it probably is my own doing despite of being very carefull when salvaging stuff. But at one time when i started MP again after i had my dinner 'pause' my Unique Mace doing like 300 DPS was gone.

So i am curious if this happened to anyone else. As said, i think it is my own doing but just maybe it got bugged somehow.

Yes it happened to me to. In my case it was my doing though.

When salvaging somehow the selection of the current item jumped to that unique item. And I was so fast salvaging that it was gone before I could react.

(I had that item twice though :D )

So what I do now is being very careful and rather slow when salvaging.

It would be nice if there was a flag that we could set, making an item unsalvageable as long as this flag is set.

Or if there was a new category, where we could put items and in this category they would not be salvageable.

This is a good idea.

Marking item's unsalvageable + having salvage rest button would be amazing...

Agreed.  I learned this lesson playing Destiny.  You get so much crap that you become a robot while discarding/salvaging, that you really do have to slow down and take your time.

I too would like a feature allowing us to toggle salvage off for certain items.  Perhaps even a prompt "are you sure?" for at least Unique items.

No. Salvaging is already clunky enough on PC, a "second" confirm message isn't a solution. Note the emphasis on "second" because it doesn't just salvage, you need to confirm already. So technicaly, it's your own damn fault if you go ahead.

This doesn't mean salvaging couldn't be improved, like:

  • A "favorite" section where items can't be salvaged
  • A "Salvage everything not in favorites" button
  • A freaking hotkey to "Salvage" button so we don't have to move constantly the mouse or use 2 hands to salvage
  • All items you can get from chests should be level 2 so they NEVER get below the Inquisition weapons

I lost my first purple item. Was a level 21 one handed axe. I've never replaced it :( woke up one day and put dragon age on and my Templar was equipped with the inquisition base weapon instead of my epic :(

At least with exotics on destiny, it salvages really really slowly.

+1  Yes, this is one of the most sensible/efficient ways to do this.

True, yet that didn't stop people from making the discard mistake.  Overall, I think all some people want is some mitigation towards our robotic stupidity when we are in that zone.

I don't go through items when buying chests. I go through my inventory afterwards to see that I didn't get the Griffon again. This is much faster and I get the frustration all at once, instead of item by item. Nevertheless salvaging from the chest would be ok for me.. :)

I would like to have that "do not salvage under any circumstances" flag system and be allowed to salvage Inquisition weapons and all armour I don't need or want.

Same here. Was my first Unique weapon. Strangest thing is i also 'lost' it with my Templar. When starting the game my Templar was the selected character.
