So how many games does it take to promote a class?

You don't need routine at all so do threatening until ur lvl 10ish, so 1 run, and then perilous for like 7ish depending on ur team. Promoting doesn't take long at all

Recently I've played mostly Perilous (full 5/5 for the most part) and I am finding promotions to be terribly slow; slower that I thought it would be playing the highest level. But I guess I don't dedicate as many hours per day as other players do.
Threatening speedruns sounds like a more appealing deal, especially if it happens to give a similar XP/minute ratio.

The thing that sold me on it is that you can bring a lvl 1 into Threatening without slowing the team down too much. Playing a lvl 1 on Perilous makes the run take much longer in comparison. I'm also grinding for the agent banners, so 5+ minute runs are nice.

Five minutes on threatening sounds nice. I was roughly timing all of our perilous runs. They felt really fast with us rarely slowing down but were pretty consistently 10-12 minutes per run. Add in lobby time and it was like 12-15 min per run.

Combine that with my earlier estimate of 8-10 runs to promote then it would take two focused hours of playing on perilous to promote from lvl 1.

That fits well with the several hours of speed runs I recently ran with a couple of groups where I was able to level my Ele and Archer each twice. Honestly, I felt like we could have trimmed the time more in a few places: less time in the lobby and by completely ignoring pots and chest rooms.

I'd love to hear how this compares to the experiences of some of the chart toppers out there. I'd also like to know how fast any people who grind solely on threatening are promoting.

Don't know the exact numbers, but one Routine game gets you to lvl 5, a Threatening game gets you to lvl 7 and a Perilous game gets you to lvl 10 when played with a lvl 1 character. Perilous gives a bit over 25k exp, so I suppose it takes about 8 games to reach lvl 20 and promote.

My advice would be to find a good team and to stop playing Routine altogether, if you're interested in efficiency.

it depends, when I solo perilous I get between 13000-16000 exp, you get more if you are in a group

If you are soloing with an AW it takes even less runs, because for every kill where you generate Barrier, you get bonus "Support XP".
Have gotten roughly 8-9k XP in Threatening Solo with AW per match.
Same with Keeper deploying Barrier and getting kills -> Bonus Support XP.

Also there is killstreaks and team combos, but dunno how much bonus XP they grant.
