I am indebted to Shadohz for gathering the data that I used to do this math.

Have you ever wondered how many crafting materials you will need to create all the character armors?

(sorted by Cloth, then Leather, then Metal)
Cloth	Leather	Metal	Total	Character
58	58	160	276	Legionnaire
58	160	58	276	Archer
73	73	194	340	Reaver
73	73	194	340	Templar
73	194	73	340	Assassin
73	194	73	340	Hunter
85	207	73	365	Alchemist
116	116	296	528	Katari
160	58	58	276	Keeper
194	73	73	340	Elementalist
206	73	85	364	Arcane Warrior
296	116	116	528	Necromancer
1465 1395 1453 4313

Why should you care?

Crafting character armors removes them from the pool of items that you can receive in chests, which in turn increases the chances that you will get something more useful.

What should you do?

That's up for debate. Personally, I plan to craft the character armors that require the least amount of Cloth first, because Cloth is the materials bottleneck. That way I will get more of the character armors out of the item pool faster. Also, any character armors that I do still receive from chests should be the ones from characters that require more Cloth to craft -- which reduces my need for that material.

Everyone have fun crafting those Necromancer armors....

P.S. Here's the link again in case you missed it the first time:

Well, I usually craft an armor or two after a couple of games, but they drop so rarely that I doubt crafting them all will increase my chances of getting Sulevine Blade or that even better 2h weapon that appeared in the equipment spreadsheet.
