$EA's$ deadlines happened.
That's already old, dude. It's time for new jokes.
$EA's$ deadlines happened.
No they aren't.
According to DAO humans were played about 70%. Elves were 20- 25 and dwarves were the rest.
20 - 25% isn't anywhere near 70%
Honestly I rather they just restrict it to humans period.
Okay then but they are more popular than dwarves and likely will be more popular than Qunari
They indeed done many mistakes like showing us things that wont make it ! But honestly the thing that bioware was known for was its story! , i really think they should have cut in other places instead and worst case added those in future dlc's.. The main story is way to short and the ending is very cheap , the side quests are a sad joke... This was the the strong side of bioware... and the sad thing i dont think it will be fixed for this game because its just way to much work and will be expensive and not profitable.
The bugs, the pc controls , the multiplayer everything will be fixed... but the story part will most likely remain as it is with maybe some dlc in the future that will try to add alittle depth for a price.
I predict you will be seeing DLC that will enhance the game so no worries here
Because what you see in early versions of games ALWAYS gets changed. Its not just for Bioware games. This happens for ALL games.
Thats why its called ALPHA. Do a youtube search and look at the ALPHA trailers of DA2. The majority of that footage...NEVER made it in the game and Cassandra had WHITE hair.
Just look at what happened with Mass Effect. The entire mission that revolves around finding Liara in the final product was fairly different in the demo, and no blue markings for Garrus!
This is the reason most developers don't allow fans such an inside look to the making of process. And I'm pretty sure Bioware will never do it again.
I'm not so sure. People's expectations tend to skyrocket more if they hear nothing at all.
I love DAI, but seeing this video now hurt. It could be so much... richer?
There seems to have been so much removed, and I don't understand why. These elements promised to add tension and flavor, plus strategy.
OK, so maybe not everything could be included in the end. Fine. But why not at least keep some of the concept for the War Table missions? (You select one option over the other, sacrificing the other entirely - it's just not possible to get to an ideal stage each time...)
Pet peeve: there was supposed to be a timed siege on the Inquisition forces? WHY remove this one? If there's one thing that seriously annoying me, it's how Cory is completely relaxed while the Inquisition is slowly building up its power base and demolishing the Venatori / Red Templar forces. I'm glad to know this wasn't always intended to play out like this and would've liked, very very much liked, to see some more realistic opposition.
Can we please stop placing CD Projekt on a freaking pedestal. Sure they have done SOME things right but they are NOT perfect by a long shot.
CD Projekt is already there. Have you seen Witcher 3 gameplay videos? Bioware is damn lucky that game was delayed and didnt release at the same time as DAI.

I think the solution to this is one race per game. One game you're restricted to a dwarf with a dwarf-centric plot. Next game you're an elf and you play in an elf-centric plot. So on and so forth.
This probably won't be a popular idea though. I'm crazy like that.

In DA2 we were restricted to humans. Would have been brilliant to be able another race as well - even though the exact same story wouldn't have worked...

Too bad that not a single member of the press had the opportunity to play the game. Seems quite suspicious.
CDPR made a total of TWO decent RPGs that were pretty buggy and unoptimized on release. They've been in crunch-mode for over a year now and several Lead left the studio over a year ago. There is a good chance that TW3 will be a huge disappointment.
Yeah, given the negative reactions to approval timer ticking down during the Orlais ball thing, I don't think that'd be a very popular thing either.I'm actually glad timed missions were done away with. Not really a fan of being rushed through a game like Dragon Age.

Judging by their games record and what we already saw, Id say there is zero chance it will be huge disappointment and pretty high chance it will be GoTY. But we'll see.

I hate the Witcher games, can't even play them. I just hate the combat so very much. Clunky, stupid, tedious, boring.... I just can't play it, I start to fall asleep.
Duh, I was saying about the way they handle their customers, better dialogue with the community post release or Free DLC and stuff.
None of this had to be cut, it was a big fat lie! Made the game look different and better to SCAM all of you into buying it. This video should be used to get refund or make a big class action lawsuit! Everything from crestwood to the keep upgrades they advertised were NOT in the game!
I will never trust any word from Bioware's mouth anymore. They promised us (after Me3 backlash) to never, ever show us or tell us things which will not make 100% in the final game and then this happened. When started the game, I searched for some features in the game which they showed in demos and told us in interviews, there are gonna be in the game. And I was so confused and dissapointed when I found out. Just terrible.
I would be ashamed in their place...
Welcome to Peter Molyneux club Bioware, jeez.
What a fake advertising. I still like the game but it is still such let down at the same time. Felt very tricked and my trust is broken.
Like trying to demand money from people for supposedly pirating the game? Imagine the backlash if EA tried that... oh wait, EA exec actually went on record they're against it.Duh, I was saying about the way they handle their customers

Introduction of multiple races probably cut down a lot of resources.

I don't think enough people are welcoming of the dwarf option for such a thing to go over well. Besides, dwarves are a two-class race. People would hate not having a mage option.I think the solution to this is one race per game. One game you're restricted to a dwarf with a dwarf-centric plot. So I decided to have a watch of old DA:I videos to see how the alpha and released game compare and I have to say things were looking much better back then.
What happened, Bioware?
What happened to our fortresses out in the world being under a timed siege and if we didn't stop them they could be destroyed?
What happened to actual strategic gameplay of doing things like destroying enemy boats to cut off their retreat?
What happened to limited resources and making the journey matter?
What happened to choices that would change the very world? An entire village was destroyed in that video because of a choice the Inquisitor made. That's more of a change to the game world than anything we got in the actual release, and apparently the game was originally meant to be full of choices like that (or at least that's how the video makes it sound).
"Do you want to rebuild an ancient monument, or open the westgate, or cap vents that are spewing poisonous gases", "you can't do all of them, you have to use your resources wisely". That's a quote from the video (give or take a few words). In the actual game you can indeed do all 3.
Was BioWare so worried that players would be upset that they couldn't do everything, or that they could lose out on pontential quests because of choices made, that they completely neutered the game until the world became meaningless? Because that's the only explanation I can think of for all these fantastic things disappearing from the final product.
WTF Final Crestwood looks so different than shown this video and Crestwood quest also looks totally different ![]()
DAMN BIOWARE WTF ![]()
