I'm starting to think this schematic like the dwarven longsword and a tier 3 staff aren't really in the game.

move some of these like the helm of the inquisitor dwarven longsword schematic to say the high abyssal Dragon make it worth all those stupid side quests to challange it or the helm of the inquisitors maybe to the the frostback Dragon I'm gone through 3 characters and had not seen any that specific character could use or worth keeping save&load farming shouldn't be an answer to getting any of the better gear

After multiple restarts and nearly completing the game several times, here is what I have observed

- Only got the Dwarf Sword once and it makes a huge difference to get it or not, if you don't have access to the sword of the dragon dlc

- Only got the staff once

- Got Grey Warden Shield early the first and 3d time. but really late the 2nd play.

- Never have found the mail tier 3 heavy armor until last night when I decided to test the reload and reloot thing over and over, and after 10 reloads, finally got it.

What about the helm and I got the superb dragon long sword but my new play through I haven't got it yet can't remember when I get it

save/load farming is your doing, bioware never intended for you to do that. I for one love the idea of a super-rare, elusive schmatic. Trust me, if you had everything handed to you, you would beg for the few super rare schematics back. Having super rare schematics gives you something to hope for every new game, instead of just having the same stuff every playthrough.

Fable 3 got a lot of things wrong, but giving you one of 6 super rewards every playthrough was awesome. Every playthrough you could hope to get the awesome Dragonstomper 48 pistol.

Is there even a schematic for the Helm of the Inquisitor?

I've played through twice and I was only ever able to find the helmet itself on the Emerald Graves dragon's corpse.

I have the schematic in my first playthrough. No idea where I got it, though. It might be a random drop anyway.

They are in the game, yup. This is from single play through.

Helm of the inquisitor schematic also exists; dropped for me pretty early on, from the second tier room in the shards temple. I actually thought it was fixed loot drop there or something...

They exist, but I have no idea where I got it. The RNG loot is horrible.

After I learned how to use CE to get schematics, I never bothered with chests again, besides the ones with unique weapons.

Has to be an exceptionally rare drop.

I know the only guaranteed location to get the helmet is the dragon in the Emerald Graves, but that's only a copy of the helmet itself, not a schematic.

The loot system is far too arbitrary -never found many spirit rune schematics among other missing and incomplete items.  However, did find the inquisitor hats and helmets.  You should also have the option to buy the items, but w/o a fix to make the loot system somewhat aware of the player's needs -useless junk will still result.

Most of the tier 3 items are available, some qunari and elf mods may still have issues.  The tier 4 items were rescaled to tier 3 -think they knew of the battle scaling issues with event timers.  That problem make enhancement mods difficult!

Yeah, it's all RNG madness. I didn't find schematics for the Helm of the Inquisitor, Orlesian Mage Hat, & Prowler Coat Arms until my 2nd playthrough.

I've had the Inquisitor Helm schematic since early on. I think I bought it in Val Royeaux.

Did you purchase any of the rare schematics/goods perks?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't appear for sale by default.

Save/load farming isn't a players doing it's a result of rng loot system and save/load farming is something they should've seen coming do to many games relying on rng loot and is one of the most hating things when it comes to games like these! the fact that I've been through more then 3 play throughs and took an entire day of load farming and still haven't seen any of the Schematic's I mentioned isn't fun at all it frustrating. I don't want things handed to me but this is ridiculous.

I've wanted the helm since I first seen the release concept art, same with the longsword but it's not even in the game! Once you become inquisitor I thought in get it or would have to do a mission to get the helm but no

I haven't taken those perks. I can't even be sure that's where I got it from, but for whatever reason I've got a memory of purchasing it there. I could be wrong.

Didn't realize there was a distinction. I'm talking about the schematic for this: http://dragonage.wik..._the_Inquisitor

Maybe, but the RNG system as it stands is awful. Probably one of the worst ideas they had. And hell, it would even be one thing if it was RNG for drops, but chests? Jesus. Save scumming is necessary when you're a mage in an ocean of damn daggers.

I think in a single player RPG, loot should generally have a place where it lives. I should know that I get this schematic in this chest, for example.

I wonder if there's a superior helm of the inquisitor
