Hi so given all the bugs on the mage I wanted to make it I decided to go to my other go to fantasy type, the archer. I know dual daggers is better dps but I love the archer. So my questions are which specialization is best for the archer and what are some must haves for the class? Thanks guys.

Archery is pretty straightforward, as all of the skills in their tree are good. You'll want to get to Full Draw quickly because it's a great initiator, probably through the right side of the tree. From Subterfuge and Sabotage you're going to want Stealth through to Evade (Ambush is good too, but it's not your top priority), and Looked Like It Hurt (via Caltrops, which isn't worth keeping on your bar). Cheap Shot is good to have as well, but like Ambush, it's not your #1 priority early on.

All of the specializations work really well with Archers. I'm currently running an Artificer purely for a passives and the amazing focus ability, though it's been taking me awhile to build up my crit chance to the point where it really sings. Tempest has some magnificent spike damage, and Assassin has all around high damage with auto-crits from stealth (meaning you don't have to build for crit chance as aggressively as you do for other Rogue builds).

Rogues have the the most interesting specializations and its hard to go wrong , it just depends on your playstyle:

artificer - zero cooldown mines/leaping shot

tempest - zero cooldown leapingshot / time stop

assassin - ridiculous stained dps and burst damage

Infact i want the rogue designer to have a look at warriors and fix them. While they at it let go of who ever designed the warriors this time around.

to each their own. I find the strongest and "best" specialization to be artificer.

for anyone else not controlled by you, tempest, tempest and tempest.

To expand on what I asked. I want to be at ranged and nail enemies hard.

artificer tempest and assassin can all do that.

honestly you'd have to go out of your way to make a shitty archer rogue

like bottom half of sabotage

either side of stealth tree can be good depending on the build.

Assassin nails really hard. Tempest have some pretty nice concept to it though. But if you're an Archer already, you can probably get Sera to tag along so you know how it plays. As for Artificer, you have Varric. My mindset isn't so much as the DPS or abilities. I am more for getting a unique build compared to your squad. So yeah Archer Assassin is my pick. (Following what the game has provided for the rest of the party.)
