Hey, been playing a Knight Enchanter and while it is really fun, all my high end gear is a disgusting mess of nasty looking blue leathers and orange cloths. Since I want to build more crit and defense isn't that big of a priority, I was wondering if medium armor would be a good way to increase crit chance and damage while also not looking like an explosion at the rainbow factory.

Critical Damage and Critical Chance are only OFFENSIVE slots.. There is not a single piece of armor that has an OFFENSIVE slot.

Honestly, just pick what ever looks good. As a Knight Enchanter you are pretty much untouchable, even on nightmare, so just go for looks. You would be better off finding armor that has a lot of leather utility and pump it full of T3 cunning components.

Superior medium armor of the dragon has 12 leather utility.. would give you something like 21 cunning for 10.5 crit chance with lurker scales or craggy skin.. but really.. you are better off building a SEER staff with HILTED grip and Dragon blade if you want more chance or masterwork archon staff blade for critical damage.

If you like the armor look..

Superior prowler armor with prowler armor arms and hunter coat legs gives you something like 23 leather utility for 20% critical chance if stacked with cunning.

Superior skirmisher hat gives you an additional 10 utility for leather for another 17.5 cunning and thus 9 critical chance bonus.

Okay then, what are some just really good looking armors? I'm using crafted Sturdy Battlemage armor and it looks embarrassing right now.

Depends on your race.. I cannot tell you what looks good unless I know your race. There are race restricted armors, certain armor looks too bulky on some races compared to others..

Here you go, this might help. I took the liberty of adding every single schematic in the game via cheat engine.. take a look through that and see if there is anything you like. I will then tell you if it is RNG chests or can be obtained from a set location.

Hmmm. That's annoying - no hooded helms like they had in the DA2 mage item DLC. Meh.

Cheers for putting that up though - that's literally the first resource for armour looks that I've seen online.

Wow, this is great. :)  But it looks like you're missing the Masterwork Archon Staff for some reason?

I'm rocking the same thing! Basically I'm using the Sturdy Battlemage Armor crafted with the Battlemage Coat Arms and Battlemage Armor Legs.

Honestly, it is not the "look" of the armor that bothers me at all. It is the color scheme! I build it for max armor and there is so much orange! I hate it! Why on earth does Dragon Webbing have to produce that hideous orange color?!

There's an unwritten rule that bioware games have to make sure the top end gear always looks a bit rubbish.

Personally I just bit the bullet and went with the light armour of the dragon, it's the one mage robe that looks like it suits an armoured helmet. But I *think* the schematic is pre-order or deluxe edition only....

Yeah, I didn't pre-order and I'm 99% certain you're right that it is pre-order. I'd be rocking that if I had it, believe me.

Outside of this game, I've only played the ME trilogy from BioWare (but I have played that extensively) and I don't remember the top end armor looking bad there.

The Colosus X or Predetor X armor in ME1 was great. I liked the different variations on armor in ME3 as well. Plus, you could change your color scheme to your liking in ME3.

Hmm.. So I am.. The screenshot must not have uploaded. I'll fix that now.
