So, I kissed him....once, okay, maybe twice....I didn't swear eternal love or anything! So, I wanted to get with Cullen and he said I had to break it off with Solas...no problem.....except damn Solas won't give me an opening....just keeps saying "my heart".....blahhhhhhh! At least Sera went merrily on her way when I broke it off.
So, I thought if I went to a marker point in the game it would trigger a break up point, so did the Winter Palace, came back....still with the "my heart" nonsense.....question is - will I be able to break this off or am I stuck in a loop?
I want Solas to GO AWAY!

Thing is though, you're probably locked in which means that even if you do break it off with him I'm fairly sure you can't go and romance anyone else. Do you have an earlier save?

Seems like you can only breap up with Solas during the romance scenes, which will be after the story mission "What Pride has Wrought". I'm not sure if you can start the Cullen at that point though.

I had kinda same bug with IB though originally I just went to see how break up scene looked like if I said it was just fling then I went to check on big guy later on and we ended in bed O_O though I thought to myself it's ok probably just a "fling" now cool then I wanted to romance Sera and I couldn't because I was "in romance" but there was no option to break up with IB for second time and I was stuck in romance as well lol

But...but we haven't even slept together yet!!!! I object, on a number of levels to being saddled with this elf for the rest of the game! my Inquisitor is under stress....I should be able to, you know, get some relief, some simple relaxation.....with any number of people....with all of them, actually.

Thing is that it's not a bug. All romances lock in at some point, and if you've be dalliancing with several you're essentially out of luck. There is no 'chose me' scene, no multiple romances that can run concurrently, and there is no ability to romance another person either after the game 'locks' you into another romance.
Best case scenario is to wait for mods if fooling around or polyandry/polygamy are more your style.

What? Your only locked if you give him the dragons tooth. i had the option to break it off any time till what pride has brought.

Complete "What Pride Had Wrought". Go talk to Solas. You get his final romance scene and as long as you break up with him ASAP in it, then the relationship ends and you can go romance Cullen.
