Because I don't. At least, not with the dialogue options available. It just feels like the Inquisitor lacks the diversity of options the Warden possessed to express themselves and the definition of character from the 3 Hawke(diplomatic, snarky, aggressive) personalities.

I dunno. I don't really have as much of a feel for the Inquisitor as I did for the last two protagonists. Anyone else feel this way? Or the opposite?

I haven't play the Male Inquisitor yet, only play females with Alix Wilton Reagan's voice. The VA's quite good, but tbh I really like how Jo Wyatt did Hawke. f!Hawke was very very expressive with her tone & voice conveys lots of emotion. AWR's a bit more flat, apparently Sumalee Montano too.

I hear that many people complain because "Hawke's voice does not convey what I really feels!" so they tone down everything on the inquisitor's voice.

Well... personalities kinda linked on how you say things, the tone you say etc. And well, the warden have lots of line because they don't have to put any line budget into the PC...

I don't think the main character is supposed to be interesting per se. They basically just sit there and listen to others talk for 100+ hours. The best line the Inquisitor has is in the middle of the game, and it's just downhill from there.

I like what's happening around our Inquisitors, for sure.

Some of the lines are interesting, but as a character itself...? Meeeeehhhhhhh......

Not true...remember Shepard ?

They couldve easely done the same here...especially since the wheel of dialogue is a bit wider then in the previous Game .

I mean..why bother making a big game like this...........and then..just give us.....a watered version when it come to text and bubbles....

Not very, no. I like my Hawkes and Wardens better. I blame the very bland and generic nature of his/her dialogue.

Understand I mean no offense when I ask this, but do you mean your head canon or the way you play them in game?

I agree with this, but I actually found my female character to have a really enjoyable personality, maybe because I like to play vanilla characters anyway. I'm having a much harder time liking my dude character and even have stopped halfway through his playthrough now because I just find him so frickin' boring. Not sure why, I had many feels for my male Warden who got his heart broken by Morrigan, but since then I've found I'm just not as invested in my M!Quisitor's story.

Is it the VA? That seems to be the trend in Bioware games with voice acted protagonists.

Side note, anyone else believe that four voice actors for a simple change of accent while good for role playing and those who are sick of English accents in fantasy games was a waste of money?

I do with the female British accent, by Alix Wilton Regan, the way she delivers her lines just really match the emotional feel you'd expect. The male voice just seems, off..

For myself, I like the way the male American VA sounds but he doesn't change inflection enough so he always sounds the same and it gets monotonous. The British male VA does a much better job changing it up.

This is hard to answer. I like the Quizzy far more than I ever did Hawke. I enjoyed DA2 well enough for what it was but I never grew attached to Hawke like I did my Warden from DA:O. I can see myself getting attached to my Quizzies however.

It's probably partly head canon and we have more races to chose from, though I usually play human regardless. Though my current quizzy is a qunari which has been fun to play. Towering over everyone has it's perks :D But yes I find the quizzy very interesting.

No. I usually don't find anything interesting about the create-a-character characters. But I can get alot closer to the personality I want then I could with Hawke. The warden is the worst just because of the no voice and expressionless face. Not to mention the actual lines are not better then dai's.

What? No. I was just point out how the complaint about voiced protagonists is that the male voice is boring while the female expresses more emotion(though some would argue too much).

Though silent hero would allow for a few more bits of dialogue and fix the problem of "I didn't know that option would say THAT!" But I loved me my snarky!Hawke. I don't think it would've been the same without the voice. Voiced protagonists aren't an automatic negative, but they do have certain pitfalls silent protags don't. Though one could argue a voice makes them resonate more as characters, more impactful. But that's an opinion. And another conversation entirely.

I don't feel 4 voices were a waste of money.  For some people Hawke's personality was a little too strong, no matter what type you went with.  I think they went a bit safer this time around, and having 2 accent choices per gender allowed more choice for the player.  I don't think there is a way they could make everyone happy.

I really enjoyed my Inquisitor.  Yep I too went with AWR for femquizzy.  No she wasn't quite at the level as Sarcastic Hawke, but I felt her delivery on the more emotional scenes was fantastic.

Depends on the VA the British/American female and the British male work well the American one the other hand sounds so bored and uninterested in whatever is going on.

Headcanon? Very, As presented by BW? Snoozefest, and I have heard all voices. Trying to make it a gender thing or blaming the VAs is ridiculous cause I think they all did just what BW told them to do. Sound like neutral Animatrons. Face it, a voiced PC needs a freaking personality.  It also doesn't help that the dialogue choices are just as neutral as the PC.

In terms of story, definitely.  In terms of VA work, I really like what I've heard from Alix Wilton Regan (female Lavellan playthrough) and Jon Curry (male Adaar playthrough).  I agree that the Inquisitor doesn't emote as strongly as, say, Hawke or ME3 Shep, but I think that was done in an attempt to avoid some of the pitfalls of having a VA PC, especially evident in ME3.

I found mine interesting. Part of it was the VA I chose (AWR) - part of it was the fact that the dialogue worked for me because of the kind of character I tend to play.

I hated - HATED - the American female voice so I'm sticking with the British actress.  I guess they couldn't use Jennifer Hale again as the protagonist but listening to her as Krem almost makes it worse to know what could have been.  Even though Krem is pretty monotone she has loads of personality.  Anyway, I find the snarky answers makes the character more interesting, which seems like that's always the case.  My Inquisitor actually made me chuckle a few times.
