Mage for me, just seems to make sense more, a Rift Mage too at that. You have a magical mark that comes from

Spoileryou use that mark toSpoiler, and as Solas says, you also use the mark as a rift mage as sort of a catalyst for the new magic you're using. That's just me though, I'm so anal about these sort of things making sense![]()
Oooh that's interesting! I'll try to do this! Haven't got a Rift Mage yet...

There's something that is called Relativity dear. Being two feet taller is insignificant compared to the distance from you to the sky, dear.
*does I sound like Vivienne enough? I see your point however

I know like 95% will say mage but to be honest I enjoy the warrior dynamic the most in-game. I rocked a "guts n' glory" champion and it was a blast. In regards to the story, it would totally work as a warrior (or even a rogue). As a human, you are the youngest Trevelyan, so you could easily spin it as you were training to become a Templar. I also have a rogue that shirked any form of responsibility and was forced to go to the Conclave by her family and totally didn't want to be there. As a Dalish rogue, you could easily play it up as being a spy. So many ways to incorporate any class, so really mage doesn't HAVE to be the most story-fitting. So far I've played as:
Human Mage (Knight Enchanter)
Human Warrior (Champion)
Currently playing:
Human Rogue (Assassin)
Qunari Rogue (Tempest Archer)
Dalish Mage (Rift Mage)
Soon to play:
Human Warrior (2h Reaver)
Human WArrior (sword n board Templar)
Dalish Rogue (Artificer Archer)

Secondly, i would say female dalish mage. Alot of elven lore in this game. And you get more dialogue if you're a female rather than a male Dalish mage.
Currently rolling a loyalist pro chantry pro circle mage who sides with the Templars. Knight enchanter specialisation. It has been such a rewarding play through so far.

Same. Female Dalish Rift Mage makes you the most connected to the story, from what I've seen. As Your Trainer says, who but the Inquisitor could wield this power? As a Rift Mage you're the only one who can draw upon the Anchor to enhance your magical abilities. And the Anchor is the reason for everything that happens to you in Inquisition.
It helps that Rift Mage is a ton of fun, and Your Trainer is hilarious.

I agree I played a mage who allied with the templars and it felt so rewarding. It felt as though I was extending an olive branch to the templars and healing the rift between us. Who are you thinking if making divine? In the end though I think I will make a human warrior that sides with the templars my canon because with the next game in tevinter I will definitely be playing a mage. Its a weird quirk with me, but I like to have different classes in my keep in order to show a level of diversity you know? Southern thedas has always been more centered around religion and the chantry while tevinter has been about mages. Plus while the mage class makes the most sense in terms of fighting corypheus, I cannot see how thedas would unite under the leadership of one when fear of magic by the populace is at an all time high.I believe Human mage (sent as a delegate of the circle and have noble heritage).

elven rift mage... or human champion... in fact they really lean this game towards the elves in terms of story content anyway, especially with solas's romance

The game is mostly human centric until you get to the later chapters then you get hit with the elven stuff . anyways i believe a human warrior makes sense though i prefer the mage angle , a mage cleaning up the mess of a magister sounds fitting.

I think Qunari Inquisitior is pure nonsense. The idea of a Qunari who had never been introduced to the Qun is absurd. And a mage inquisitior is unlikely too because magic must serve men, not rule them. And a rogue being a lord is not a usual thing.
The Inquisitior gains the mark in the Conclave. There are human templars, elf mages and human mages. What is a Dwarf doing in the Conclave? I rule out the Dwarf option like Qunari.
Human warrior is the best suitable option.

Personally, I like Human Warrior Champion who sides with the Mages and believes in Mage Freedom. Extend the olive branch between Mages and Common People, show the Templars were just as oppressed by the Chantry as well as being just as corruptible and evil like Mages (Red Templars = Blood Mages), defying your family's expectations by not becoming a Templar and taking fantasy meth for powers or relying on weird Dragon Blood powers, just true grit and hard work, and fighting against prejudice and fear in general.

I think it's a good idea to play all the classes just for the fun of it. There's different dialogue and different interaction that are great to explore. My personal favorite is human warrior, but I plan to play all. On my second playthrough as a human mage now. Elf will be next.

I don't think any one is more fitting than the other. Each class is just a different type of leader on the battle field. I do prefer to play mages and ranged rogues, though.
