Dragon Age 4... An MMO? lets do it!

 

Take the story back to the first blight. The beginning of the chantry, the seekers, the wardens, the circle a huge war between invading Tevinter Imperium, Orlais, and Fereldan. Not to forget involving the dwarves and elves. So really, like 5 major factions to be involved..

 

There's so much room for story and pvp and shenanigans... If done right unlike a few new games-turned-mmorpg of recent...

 

I mean if you look at the Dragon Age series, there's already so many classes outlined and so much lore to go off of it'd really be childs play to come up with a great mmo for Dragon Age.

 

You can choose basic classes at first, A warrior, mage, rogue, and decide on which direction you'll take.. Warrior to templar, seeker, reaver, any melee class really.. Mages to elementalist, blood mage, shapeshifter. Rogue to assassins or bard or hairy chested dwarf. 

 

What do you guys think, about the idea of an MMO DA?

What do I think? I don't like it. I wouldn't play it.

 

Instead of KotOR 3 we got SW:TOR. I'm under no illusion that a Dragon Age MMO would be any better.

 

There are plenty fantasy MMORPGs out there, one more won't make an impact. Especially not when BioWare tries to make yet another WoW clone instead of going an unique, innovative way.

Seriously though I wouldn't mind it if it was done by a different team and I still got my single player Dragon age games without any quality hits or restrictions tying into the mmo story.

Yeah I am sure this was a beta version of an upcoming mmo, actually. I don't think we will get a DA4.

Nooooo DA is one of the only really good single player games around, I hope they continue to focus on that.

I don't think this would work. And I can see a number of reasons why it would be a headache for them. I don't know of any company that has two MMOs running concurrently with the same audience (which doesn't mean there isn't one.) I think most of BioWare's audience would end up choosing between the two (or playing neither.)

I actually enjoy SWTOR. I'm a F2P player, though, so they're not making any money off of me for it.

I play a couple of MMO's that have a great community. If the forums here are anything to go by (no offence) it would be a disaster. The community can make or break an MMO.

Yeah I never take the community of the forums seriously on any game. They always act so biased and jaded like nothing can be done right to make them happy.

 

People saying this is already basically an mmo make me laugh..

 

Bio-ware gave what people asked for in Dragon Age 3.. You got a huge map, returning favorite characters, tons of different endings, and boobs. Calm down guys, this game is good.

 

And as someone who played SWTOR a fair amount of time.. I'd have to say it's only 2 real problems were the horrible leveling system and the class system. Who decides to make assassins tanky? But then again SWTOR wasn't Bio-Ware's fault. It was EA's for forcing them to launch the game not ready.

I would say no. I have played a few mmo's and most of them had me bored in less than a month. I know that there are people out there that thrive in these types of games. I hate to see a good single player game get ruined with dreams of a money milking machine.

I'd rather have a full cooperative campaign than a MMO

Allow easy access for players to make mods.  Then let players create these MMO's, similar to what happened with NwN1.  Bioware, can then concentrate on the core game, rather than split their attention into directions that not all of their customers would choose to access.
