Disagree, not worse than any other grind really. I personally only like the banner, so only did it for completion.

EDIT: Also, maybe it was a bit quicker with Alchemist as you then can not only have 3-4 clouds up at the same time but also have the poison blades-skill.

Personally, I think that is the nicest portrait so I figured it was a good idea to make a "poison-hunter".

 

THAT must be the worst hunter I've ever created. Even if I used the poison cloud-skill in the center of a pack of foes,

I rarely got poison kills. This kind of grind is out of my league (I don't like to grind routine, couse it's so boring I wanna smash my head into the oven) , and now I'm stuck with a self-nerfed hunter at lvl 10-ish.

I have an alchemist build specific for grinding poison kills. Worth doing a quick guide? I completed this challenge in 25 games or so.

I was thinking of doing it myself, but I couldnt be bothered. So I can just do it here in text.

 

- I did this with Alchemist as it's the best to do it. As build I've used stealth, fire flask, toxic cloud and poison blades. Everything that maximizes poison damage (I even used a dagger with poison proc but I honestly dont think it is needed) is good and self explanatory, things that prolong fireflask or help with cooldown. (I honestly cant remember if there are any that do but if there is you know what to do). I would go for a CD amulet and I suggest though having a strong first handed weapon and a weaker second hand. You dont really want to kill things with your daggers alone. Poison potion exists but I didnt use them really.

 

- Run towards end of every stage without stealth. Minions will aggro you and run towards you. Beware that some dogs might not, and you have to return to kill them if you dont take care of them along the way. If you want, you can also kill some on the way to make it quicker, but if you do that, hit minions in choke points with poison dagger. Hit them a few times and leave them to die. That way, if you get a toxic cloud from the kill (If I remember correctly it comes from the poison passive?) it will poison everything that is running after you.
 

- Once you get to end, pop fire flask and spam toxic cloud (I could at times throw down as many as 8 toxic clouds). You dont nescessarily need to spread it out because the damage stacks, and what you want to do is to stand behind a pillar or something similar, so that even ranged units will approach you and go into the cloud, use poison daggers to kill those not entering the cloud by hitting them a few times and leave them alone to die. You can also start killing things with poison daggers before you use toxic cloud, to hope for that chance of a toxic cloud from an enemy that dies (this can snowball and before you know it the whole area is covered in clouds without even casting the spell), so that you can save up your cloud for when the group really starts gathering up. The cool down is quite long.

- Once applicable remember to stand between minions and your cloud to make them enter. 

- Once you reach stage 5 just do the same, but go put the flag down and hide in a corner in the starting room, till you get a good amount of enemies, and from there it is self explanatory. It's funny that every time I had the Venatori she died simply without me noticing. But thats just normal.

 

- I only used stealth if I needed to run over longer distances to decrease time. Every time I killed a last stage group I popped stealth, as you dont loose it when you open stage doors or use a healing font...

- I skipped demons all together. Green wraiths are unaffected by poison and the whole ting just takes a bit more time. So, you will actually do this quicker if you just restart the run until you get the red templars or the venatori.

 

After a few runs you will get a good hang of this, and make them quicker and more accurate every time. It is not the quickest grind you can do but it is quite doable. I think, all together on all 2500 kills I spent about 3 hours, maybe 4 tops divided into a few sessions. As Penguin stated, it takes about 25 games if you are thorough, as you get about a 100 kills each game. Dont worry about the medals, as they will only say 10-15 ability kills, but that is incorrect. If you check your acheievment progress you will see a more accurate progress.
