First what difficulty you playing at? second champion with to the death better for bosses, while templar with WOH+purge better for mobs.

I am on Hard right now with ambitions to go to NM.  I figure since for bosses I will be up in their face Champion would be the way to go.  Cass is already a Templar.  I like Blackwall too though, so I could roll with him, and I could handle the mobs with my Templar Combo.  It's a tough choice.  I keep hearing the trainer say '" it's good to be Champion"  ringing in my head.  There is noway I could have the whole Champion Tree till near end game.  Would you go left or right side of the Tree to start off.  I'll be prob level 15 when I re spec for Champion with about 17-18 points to play with. I haven't gotten the Amulet of Power for my main yet.  That would be the 18th point.  I need the Passives in Vanguard and Battlemaster for the Taunted and Knocked down enemies though so I can't pull any points from there.

Definitely left side Champion tree first.  Walking fortress is great and all, but honestly if you are watching your shield wall it's redundant, I only use it so I can shrug off things I'm too lazy to avoid. And To the Death is amazeballs.

Tempests can CCC with Frost flask, and I think Rift Mages can do it with Stonefist?  Anyway, it's not unique to warriors.  Yeah, the AOE is a little crazy, but Templars don't do much damage aside from that...

Currently Stonefist detonations are hitting for zero damage or 1 damage. It's not a mob resistance thing. It just isn't working. It's hard to say if they'll make it work or just take it away whenever they get around to working on all of the bugs. I haven't tested the templar CCC on my own, but I agree with you, they don't do much damage so it doesn't seem like one combo would make them OP.

I think spell purge should be an impact detonator. It is absurdly OP to cross class combo with yourself in AoE

I haven't tried it, but I've seen it used in multiplayer, and I didn't feel like they were OP. First off, it's a combo that requires two spells to activate, and typically neither spell does any damage at all. It's just the combo detonation that does damage. I'm assuming that if an Elementalist, for example, cast two spells that do damage (but don't detonate), they would actually do more damage. For instance if they cast Stonefist and then Immolate, it would do more damage. Is that not true? How strong is the detonation?

I am a 2HW so I have no Shield Wall.

Ah, well, watch your Combat Roll and Block and Slash :P

Walking Fortress and Whirlwind make a good combo but I can't underscore enough the value of To the Death.
