no, not all the whole time.. come to think about it, does the game actually have a combat music? i cant remember
Yeah, but usually reserved for dragon fights and boss battles. Major stuff.

Isnt it weird tho? cant recall another game that doesnt have combat music for normal fights..
Do da2 and da:o have it?
Not sure about Da2 but Origins has music during combat, infact i think the music in origins is constantly playing and only stops during certain dialogue.
we should make you the lead designer for the next game :33
we should make you the lead designer for the next game :33
this title deserves an actual capeable lead designer for a change, not someone who can point out obvious flaws
well they dont have a capable designer who can point out flaws
SO BECOME THEM

You arn't qualified, then. EA only wants Yes-Men, who do as they are told.
EA assumed direct control of bioware :<
you dont find it odd to just walk around and realize all you hear is just your footsteps and ambient noises? i dont think its a bug it seems like just a weird aspect of the way the music works
Yeah, I don't think that's a bug either. Same with the party banter, I think it's just their system that is totally messed up. I get music for like 20 seconds at a time while exploring. It usually triggers after a fight but it NEVER lasted not even a minute. If it was a bug I wouldn't be getting any at all, what I do get is what it sounds like little samples of different tracks. It makes the worlds seem even more empty and lifeless if you explore them in silence. If they were trying so hard to be like Skyrim they should've at least add some proper ambient music.

Unf.... Skyrim music.... Jeremy Soule is my absolute favorite game music composer (loved him since Guild Wars). If he ever did Dragon Age music, my excitement could not be contained.

They cheapened out and did not make any exploration and ambient music. Even the game OST has plot related tracks no combat or exploration ones. Compare that with skyrim's OST which has 4 discs.
Look i get you want to compete with skyrim but atleast do it properly. Music is needed to set the atmosphere, sadly we got shitty no music while exploration. Little things like that matter which make exploring a sandbox fun, in inquisition not so much. Then they have the balls to say rpgs do not sell well, Skyrim is still one of the highest sold games on steam, while inquisition struggled to be even in top 10 of most game sale charts.
Fact of the matter is Skyrim was beautiful game with proper ambience which encouraged exploration. Sadly bioware took the wrong things from skyrim and made all their quests radiant quests. Atleast skyrim radiant quests required me to kill bandits or stuff, here farm materials.
Then there is crafting which is even more simpler than Skyrim, jewellery is also much more simpler than skyrim. It is sad that Skyrim has better stats, crafting, skills, perks than dragon age. Thats how sad the current situation is.
Basically the problem is when it comes to game systems biowares are very Simple. Infact i will say their gameplay systems have regressed even further and that they keep forgetting that they make games, not a movie. If you just look at gameplay wise they have gone down. We have regressed from origins to inquisition in terms of gameplay even. So much so that there is barely much left in it.
This has been on of the main reasons when both bio and obsidian did work on the same series i liked obsidians work better. Their story is generally better, they avoid pandering to the BS romance crowd and instead add C&C to where it matters story and NOT romances and finally their gameplay systems are more advanced and developed than biowares.
Infact bioware does do choice and consequence but they do it for the wrong thing, romance which was just frivolous stuff is where they have put their attention to when instead they should have focused that stuff on the main game itself. You cannot use the excuse we cut stuff because many people will not experience it and then go do it and put stuff in romances which many people will never see it. Instead put that choice etc in the story which everyone goes through. Basically all the complexity etc they have focused on the wrong things and this leads to a shallower game with wasted effort on useless stuff.
Resource wise how much was wasted on 4 voice actors for PC which meant he barely had any personality or good dialogues. Same with soo many companions and then resources for their what if conditions and romance crap. When i would have very much preferred if they used those resources to work on the main game, better music, better final missions, better side quests.
This is my problem money and resources being wasted on stuff that does not matter.
Lol I read it all. I don't know how you did it but you perfectly describe how I feel about DA:I

I don t really understand where Bioware want to go with their new design choices. I mean it s obvious they want to appeal to new audiance with simple leveling/combat etc... But on the other hand this game has so much lore in it, that i can t imagine any new player understands anything from the story. I mean they just throw in in characters like Flemeth and expect us to know who she is and stuff like that. They should really decide what they want new people or us, the existing fan base.

Read 1) appealing to a bigger audience. Bioware don't want old or new fans Bioware want all fans and appeal to everyone this is worst you can do. This is why we have genres. Moves books know this. If someone like me don't like horror moves I just don't watch them. For some reason games forget genres exist. This is why we have. DA wants me to make gay. and Bioware awesome and inclusive. 50% scream Cass ugly. 50% scream Cass perfect and beautiful. Isabela breast to small isabela breasts to big... I don't even talk about game play mechanics changing each game. 3 games and Bioware still don't know how Genlock, Qunari and elf's looks.
Most people I've spoken to that love the game always go on about how huge the game is, quite frankly how huge the game is doesen't mean a damn thing if I'm bored during most of it. It seems its getting praise simply for being big and beautiful which would be fine if it didn't sacrifice so many other important features to achieve that.
After doing a completionist playthrough i was done with the game tbh. The side quests offer no replay value and even during the first playthrough they got boring.
I usually love exploring in games, i do it all the time but in inquisition i started to realize that there was little reward. Any loot i come across will be nothing in comparision to crafting. Playing skyrim at the moment and the reason i like to explore in this game is mostly to find loot. Bars for smithing, potions, materials for alchemy, armor, weapons, sometimes the occasional item that will start a daedra questline. Even the exploration falls flat for me in Inquisition though i will admit it looks beautiful but that doesen't do anthing for me.
I understand that this is their first attempt at "open world" but this is the quality i expect from new companies, not Bioware.
