So tips? Working on a tempest dagger rogue, but I may just shelf him for a hot minute to start my elf archer.

I'm stuck on this class. Found em to slow in Origins. Nathaniel was OP in Awakenings, with 600+ dps. Barely got through II......

So now.....looking to once again to start one.

Thinking.... poison/with a bit of stealth?

You won't really need Flask of Frost since you should be staying out of melee range. Also bear in mind that the main weakness of Archery is long cooldown on most abilities with no effective way of reducing them.

You definitely want Flask of Fire + upgrade to spam all of your abilities as quickly as you can. During periods where you have most of your abilities on cooldown, use Flask of Lightning to be able to quickly pepper enemies with normal attacks while your cooldowns recharge. Flask of Lightning also makes a great escape tool from melee attackers, so you can skip Evade if you want. Don't forget the passive in Tempest that adds 3 seconds to flask time when they're used back-to-back.

As for your other skills, do what you want so long as they're not melee abilities. Recommended setup would be to have all 4 archery skills, Stealth, Thousand Cuts, Flask of Fire, & Flask of Lightning.

Archers are opportunists, since they have high stamina costs and long cooldowns. You should be picking off enemies, not attacking as many as you can. With only 1 detonating ability, the focus should be on one enemy at a time. The flasks simply create opportunities to hammer that enemy harder & repeatedly.

Yup I saw some of that in that vid

on my dagger rogue, using flask of frost is better, since you're basically in melee combat, over an archer who is range.

So poison/stealth talents......... well, the evaise stealth ones

Hmmm...time to tinker with a new toon

Archers are great, not as slow and clunky as in DAO.

Use flask of lightning with a guard building weapon or armor, and you build guard AND refill stamina while holding R2/basic attack. If you can find the rare bow that shoots three arrows at the same time, and put a dragon rune on it, bingo.

Explosive shot gets less and less useful as you level up, and flask of frost don't take the upgrade as you build aggro/taunt, and you don't want that ina rogue.

About thousand cuts/FoF, never pulled it off. Now, is it that you can use it 2-3 times during the flask, or that if you activate before hand, it doesn't cost focus? That would explain why it didn't work for me, didn't use it right.

I had trouble with FoF / thousand cuts at first as well. You need to click FoF, then immediately click thousand cuts. If you wait too long to click thousand cuts, it will activate but use all of your focus. Just takes a little practice.

I did my Nightmare run as a Tempest Archer, and now I use Sera a lot in the later stages of the game, just to use FoF/ TC to kill things quicker when I am concentrating on the story. Plus, it's fun!

I love the archer so far

Being able to get mages before Cass or Bull is so much fun. Plus pop stealth, poison weapon.

I find archer incredibly boring even with the tempest specialization. Dual wield assassin was more fun, but thousand cuts really makes more sense as an assassin move. Assassin's everybody-stealth move just doesn't have many uses. I think a dual wield tempest would be a lot of fun.

Focus abilities aren't a good way to judge which specialization to take. For the assassin, his mark ability can go toe to toe with any focus ability any day. With the tempest, the only reason his focus is so great is because of an exploit which hasn't been fixed yet. Both specs are very enjoyable.

For the archer, the most fun is probably the artifacer. Done right his abilities will all have nearly zero cooldown, and his stamina will always be a plenty. All his specialty abilities add utility which can make encounters much more interesting and enjoyable. It adds to the archer rather then changing its playstyle, but thats just my opinion. I love the tempest, but I thought it much more fun with daggers. I could spam throwing daggers 5 times with a fire flask if I ever wanted to fight at ranged. Now that was fun.

Artificer looks boring as hell, plus you have to lure enemies into your traps, which is a chore...

You don't have to lure anyone....drop Fallback Plan run up on a mob (Stealth or no Stealth) drop Elemental Mines on everyone> Fallback with full health and enjoy your Cooldowns and Stamina refilling fast from all the Ele Mine crits while peppering with Arrows.

For me Spike Trap is a Defensive measure if by some miracle someone gets through the explosive barrage or knocking Demon out of ground teleport or as a gift for that Stealthed Assassin.

poisoned weapons -> hook and tackle -> spike trap -> leaping shot -> long shot -> hook and tackle -> [stealth ->] spike trap/leaping shot -> hook and tackle-> leaping shot/spike trap

depending on cooldowns

free hook and tackles with poison? Yay :3

Hi guys!

Can you setup Sera so that she uses the broken Flask Focus Combo on her own? For example Flask on prefered? Would like to watch her going crazy from outside :)
