my system is:
Notebook Acer Aspire 6920G
CPU: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz
Memory: 4gb
VGA: nvidia 9500m GS 512mb
OS: Vista x32 SP1
I have just formated all my discs, restored the system to the default setting, updated drivers.
the game runs VERY slow, practicaly when a character makes a step i see it in like a 3 pictures intervals in 2 seconds each. Interesting fact is that it really lugged while getting to the tower in Ostagar, middle lugz in the whole game (a little faster slideshow)) and practically no lugz during the camp rest and in the Brecilian forest.
Also there is the same problem on the highest settings and nothing changes on the lowest. As on low settings it pretty lugz and as on the highest there are little lugz only in the forest and the camp.
How can I solve this problem?
Thank you
the game runs like a slideshow

You do not have a High Quality video card. As a matter of fact, yours is at the lower end of Medium, so exactly what screen resolution are you forcing on that card of yours, and what resolution did the Configuration utility suggest?

I'm usin a 4870x2 2gb and it occassionally runs choppy for me as well. It's odd. I'll close the game and later on play again and it's fine.

Why would you think you can run a game like this on a notebook
like yours smoothly?? Even if you can get it to run it will look worse than the
home console versions at those resolutions! Come on man, if your a gamer, pony up and get a
decent rig to play it on. If you cant then the you should have went
with the 360 or PS3 versions.
I'm sorry for your problems...It's a great game too!

9500m is 9400+9200 in sli = very poor. set all your settings to their lowest. definatly no high textures or graphics.

I'm running on a similar setup with a Q6700 and dual 8800 GT 640's and the only stutter I had was the opening scene to the Origin. I'm running at 1680x1050 with everything maxed including 8x AA. In game seems fine so far. Only thing I can think of is because you're running on the Notebook version of the card?

Medium texutres,
Medium graphics
no aa and turn on V-sync

because practically every game (for example risen, far cry2, prototype, etc) i ran on my notebook ran on max. exept unreal tournament 3 - it was luggy even on low settings.
I don't define myself as a gamer, more politican. But there are still some games I (as former fan of rpg and d&d in childhood) can devote several evenings to.
2 Syrellaris, Valaskjalf
I've tried. nothing changed.
Maybe I should update vista to sp2?
btw, just noticed - the first 3-5 seconds of gameplay works normally, even on max. But then the slideshow begins again. maybe it's a memory problem?

Hi, just a quick check, have you tried updating you graphics drivers from Nvidia's sight? Your audio drivers? You do meet the min specs, so it should run, a DXdiag might be helpful. Here are the instructions just in case:
Start
Run(you are in vista so you can just type it into the search bar)
type > Dxdiag
give it a min or two then, "save all information"
then post the results here, you can copy and paste it

There have been report that the nVidia driver version 191.xx have problems. Try rolling back to 190.xx and see. That said I have the same card in my T9300 laptop and the configure ultility set it at low detail and med texture buffer off. I havn't done much on the laprop except start an orgin story and gone theu simple combat but it was ok.,

2 Wiz33
tried to play with factory drivers (old ones). didn't help. the last ver. for my vga at nvidia site is 186.81, not 190.xx or 191.xx
2Atomguy
The power settings are on high perf. Have updated os to sp2.
nothing changed.
The problem still the same - few seconds of normal gameplay and slideshow after.

Hmm interesting. I've disabled sound effects and the game began to run much more faster. But nevertheless its rather strange to play practically in silence - just music playing.
Is it a problem in my sound card or audio drivers?
