I'm sure we've all been there. Happily overloading/shooting/boom booming things and _____ happens. How do you deal with interruptions, and what have been your worst/best?
For me, my controller broke on wave 11. My left control stick decided it had had enough, and I ended up dangling on a banshee's wrist :/ Obviously there isn't much you can do when your controller breaks, so I just had to spectate the last minute or so, extremely disappointing!
my cat bumped and slightly pulled the hd cable from my tv once while i was playing. hurried to put it back in and as the screen came back on i found my asari getting hugged to death by husks.
About halfway through a solo that ultimately took over 90 minutes, I had to answer the door.
It was a customer of my roommate's, and she basically got told in no uncertain terms that now was not the time. When she attempted to protest, she got "The Hand™."
Before I ever finished a solo once I had just completed the wave 10 objective and was in great shape just finishing up rest of wave when my granddaughter came running up to me all excited trying to tell me a story and accidentally snagged my headset cord around her foot and tore headset and controller out of my hands and I got dropped and executed. My wife and my granddaughter's mom looked at me like they thought I was going to kill her but I just smiled and listened to her story. My wife later asked me how I kept from yelling at her? The look on her face and also the fact that I had made it that far. I knew I could do it again.

I usually only do it behind locked doors so things like this don't happen.

about the most annoying was a telemarketer calling during wave 8 of a Gold Solo
once he asked who handled the electric bill in my house I hung up
still completed the game

Smeckie is at least 76, you can't get that crusty before your 70's :S 
There are definitely other grandads on here though, there's at least one self-confessed one.
The majority of the time for me, somebody is at the door or my daughter wants me to help her with her homework or wants to show me something on tv. Other times my controller is just shot. Sometimes my controller will automatically point up when i'm running or trying to take cover...those knobs on my ps3 controller are basically toast. I've had this controller for 8 years so i guess it's time for a new one.
It's just a game, but i really do hate when i have to leave a game in the middle of a heated firefight when the entire team is struggling to get the job done...i will just hit any of the pugs with a message stating that "i gotta go, but that i hate leaving you guys with such heat on that a$$"....a couple of times some of those pugs thought i was leaving to join another game and i got some rude replies, but hey...if the wifey is standing off to the side in a two piece and the kids aren't home?...."uh...damn fellas i just lost connection outta nowhere"...
