There are other great games but nothing like this imo. (No other game has made me play for more than 1000 hrs & still makes me prioritise it above anything else)

i never played a game (MP) so much, but i think i still put civilization and maybe football manager a bit ahead. Nah, not football manager.

 

On the sp side (mE1  -> mE3), it s clearly a top game, but there is a lot of room from improvment in the writing, not that i know of better ones either.

Easily the best/most enjoyable mp game I've played, and if the sp was even close to being the equal of ME1 & ME2 it would be the greatest ever just pipping Ninja Gaiden Black.

I guess it must be, based on the hours I've put in; I think the only series I've put more time into than the Mass Effect series are Civilization and SimCity ... and I owned the originals of those on the Amiga IIRC.

I think it probably is, yes. It's a love/hate relationship. We often have to take breaks from each other... for the sake of the children.

Yeah...this MP was my first experience ever online. I always shied away from online games because of all of the idiots that i heard was online, but fortunately this ME3MP ended up being an incredible game.

 

When my game cracked earlier in the week, i was acting like a fiend on drugs, i would play this game at least once a day and when 2 days went by, i started to go through withdraws and the shakes...   .  The game has small issues here and there, but for me it is mostly connection and lag issues, because i have played games with "0" lag and those games, when all of the gaming mechanics are acting properly?...this game is an absolute blast! Bioware did an incredible job for their first outing, and I hope they continue with their success for ME4MP....truly an addicting MP experience....

Mass Effect 3 (SP+MP) is my top favorite game and Mass Effect in general is my favorite game series. If rating me3mp as if it was a stand alone game however, it'd still be in my top 10 but definitely in the mid-lower spots on that list.

There have been some games mentioned in this thread I haven't thought about in a long time. I guess the biggest ones for myself:

 

Warcraft 2

Heroes of Might & Magic 2

Civ 2 (BTW Civ 5 is a very good game)

Total War: Shogun

Diablo 2

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

ME3MP

Warcraft 2 for sure, ditto for Oblivion, for me the original Diablo is ahead of D2 (spent soooo much time playing original Diablo), and Starcraft was up there too (Blizzard used to be so money). Doom, Half-life, and Counterstrike.  I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention Madden. But in terms of hours played, there just isn't anything else that competes with Mass Effect, especially if we're including MP and SP.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised asking this question in the only place on earth that remembers this game actually exsit. Maybe it's nostalgic or maybe its because the story for ME3 was so bad ( oh and it started from the very beginning and not just the end ) that I can't put this game in the top ten, even though I have played it a **** ton. Super Metriod. Wing Commander Privateer. Knights of the old republic. Wolfenstein 3D. Mega Man 2 are definitely in my top 10. As for the rest of the list. I'd have Mass Effect 1-2 in before 3.
