Top 5 most favorite

Top 1 most played

I don't think I will ever spend 1000 hours on another game again (not even ME4MP).

Hell yeah!

True, I may not play as much as I used to but it does have a special place in my heart.

If you count the whole trilogy, then yes. Seriously though, I'd be surprised if it wasn't in everybody's top 10 who posts on here...

Anyone (myself included) still playing this game probably would consider it high up on their list

The only other multiplayer games I've played were the Tiger Woods Series, 1vs 100,Full House Poker and the occasional co-op mode in single player games

tried "Tomb Raider" Multiplayer as well, but that sucked

It's up there.  Ever since the November Origin update I haven't been able to play with any friends, so it's hard to say, even though it's by far my most played game.

I would say yes based on the hours I've spent in the game and the fun I've had with it.

Not quite sure. Honestly speaking, if there were no single player part of the ME trilogy, I might have never touched this weird mp coop game.

The single-player is what makes you care about a game's universe that you would want to invest time in the MP potion of the game for hundreds of hours more. The reason why MP focused games like Titanfall and Destiny fell flat on their face was the lack of quality Single-Player campaign to make people care about their universes.

Top ten, definitely right now.  I think the Mass Effect series will always have a special place for me.  It is probably one of the best trilogies I have played, though I wish ME3 SP did the first two justice.  The MP was fantastically addictive and fun for such a long time, especially for a game with only one gametype.

My top three MP games, in order, have been Starsiege Tribes (by far), Soldier of Fortune 2, and Call of Duty 4.

SP - I don't really have a ranking, but I have fond memories of Metroid, Final Fantasy 7... bunch of classic games come to mind.

Edit to add Dark Souls 1 as a great SP game.

I still know what I was thinking when I reached out to click "Multiplayer" in ME3. It was right after viewing the (vanilla) ending twice and my thoughts went along "Ah, well, let's try this." and "Probably can't get worse.".

Yea, SoF2 has really amazing campaign and mp, CoD4 and Tribes are both all-time classics.

Nice.  I don't find too many people who are familiar with SoF2 & Tribes (especially Tribes).  I think Tribes was the first game that introduced character animations, like dancing and backflips.

The most amazing part of Tribes was the evolution of the game over its life cycle... all stemming from a bug.

Which bug? Might be interesting to know for me cuz I'm a newbie in the 1st game.

I only clicked on it to get the online achievement (it's the completionist in me). I was not happy about Mass Effect 3 having online achievements in the first place, let alone a MP.

And yet here I am a couple of thousand MP hours later. (God knows how many in the SP)

This is going to sound weird, but I'm getting ME4 exclusively for the MP. I couldn't give two sh*ts about whatever the SP campaign's going to be about, especially if it's yet another "you're the only one who can save the blah, blah....". No thanks.

That is because the Mass Effect Universe is already established for you in the first 3 games and you now care more about the Mass Effect Universe as a whole rather than an individual story of the protagonist you will be playing. Same way, a Star Wars fan would be excited for any Star Wars game rather than just a game about Luke Skywalker because there is so much more to Star Wars than the story of 1 person and the same can now be said for the Mass Effect series.

Tribes was designed to be more of a slower paced, tactical game.  Skiing, basically what the game became revolved around, was a bug, an exploit of the physics engine.  People started to create scripts for it (pressing jump x # of times per second).  It's nice how the developers just ran with it instead of fixing it and even built it into the sequels.
