Which hair color get's you closest to black? Is it the one that looks grey in character creation? I know the lighting screws it up a bit.

It's the darkest of the grey ones (the one right before it changes colors entirely.)

There is one so black that it looks blue... don't go for that one.

that's the one I have selected right now. Was hoping the lighting in game would make this black, maybe like Cassandra's? I just spent so much damn time creating the face, I really don't want to have to start over if it ends up looking crappy in game lol. This is so annoying, why is there no true black?! Would the dark brown be better? It looks a bit red.

Yep, that's the one I choose for my inquisitors

does it look black in game?

Not true black unless you have the gamma so dark that you can't see the grey side of the symbol on the gamma adjustment screen in options. If you can, then that hair is blue/grey black, not true black.

So annoying, Cassandra and a certain other character that you can edit (spoilers) have real black hair. I dont understand why we cant

My bro did an character with that blue black one. It looked weird in game, so he started over and chose the color just to the left of it. That one won't give you a weird blue tint, still black enough to look well...black.

i don't understand why bioware just didn't give us black hair ffs

There is no true black, unfortunately. The "black" hair color will often look bluish or grayish under certain lighting conditions. Rarely does it come across as looking dark and natural.

Somehow, Cassandra's looks black though. So, I really don't understand their logic in not allowing us to have the same color. Bad enough the hairstyles are a mix of bald, more baldish, female, and hipster.

And this is supposed to be the darkest brown. What a joke. I don't get it; I have seen videos with hair that looked much darker than both of these. Is it because I am on PC or something? I can't see what else would be different than the videos I have seen

The hair options in DA:I are ... not inspiring. It's like all the best hairstyles and haircolors are reserved for NPCs and the PCs get whatever remains. Cassandra and Josephine both have black hair, but PCs get blue. ..

Bioware has never done hair properly. The CC in DA:I still has the same issues that it had in DA:O. I noticed that they did finally correct the beard bug for males.

It does seem like a weird oversight, doesn't it?
I also gave my inquisitor (pictured) purple eyes, so the idea is he looks different because he's been touched by magic or something, not that he's graying.

I saw cheat engine thing which allows more colors. Can't post a link atm.
If you end up finding it, I'd really appreciate if you let me know. I've never used those before. Is it complicated?

I've looked a little into the cheat engine as mentioned above and found the link with the hair colors. It's confusing as hell though lol. I guess I need to research it more so I don't mess anything up.

Ok something is definitely off. I've gone back and browsed some YouTube videos and I have seen inquisitors with black hair; not pure black but muuuuuchhh darker than the ones I've posted above. I don't get it. Maybe there are more options on the console? Those of you with the same issue as me; are you on PC? There are even some screenshots from the Post Your Inquisitor thread and Favorite Armor thread with black haired inquisitors.

I read a thread here some time ago saying the omission of black was a bug on the PC. It could just be people's TV settings or where they were sitting in the room, though, you never know for sure.

The blue one is the most black. It looks black most of the time, in the actual game. Not as black as Cassandra's hair, though.
