Interesting question OP. Here is my list.

1. Dragon age Origins (my first BioWare love :)  )

2. Mass Effect 2

3. Mass Effect 1

4. Dragon age Inquisition

5. Mass Effect 3

6. Dragon Age 2

I put in a 'gap' between 3 and 4, because the top 3 has me playing those games over and over again. The other games just don't have that special feel about them. I can't really explain it, I don't even know what it is myself. It's just that DAI, despite how much I loved it in my first playthrough, just doesn't feel as 'filled' as the other games. Maybe when there is some decent DLC out it picks up. The top 3 however was full with cool stuff even before any DLC. I still play ME3 a lot, but that's mostly the MP. So for my list I only looked at the SP.

I know its all subjective..

But i'm genuinely shocked at how many have Mass Effect 3 as the top spot, it just boggles my mind, i played it till the end of earth sequence then uninstalled, for me it was so bad, so linear, so limited, so many cut scenes.. i just couldn't go on..

And i absolutely loved Mass Effect 1 and a bit less so 2 (it was far more dumbed down).

I'm just :o

I delayed playing until I had an idea of who to avoid in game. After that, and with the inclusion of the Citadel DLC (brilliant!), it became a story I replayed many times.

Agreed; do not care for lengthy cut-scenes, esp those that fail to Auto-save before some included decisions. And I prefer ME1 for both story and not having to police thermal clips. It was much better than ME2 in keeping up the pace. Still, a great game for me.

Eh? There were, maybe, half a dozen cutscenes in each of BG 1 and 2....

I started with DA:O and ME1 I'm not talking about the "classics"

Generally speaking, those who love ME3 think that:

1) The combat is a superior, upgraded version of ME2's, which in turn was a far better reboot of ME1's combat.

2) ME3 (and ME2) do linearity and missions better than ME1 did "exploration" and non-linearity.

3) The cutscenes on the whole were great, especially the character moments such as Mordin on Tuchanka, Tali/Legion on Rannoch, Jack in Grissom, Grunt, Samara, etc.

4. The customization system (such as powers and weapon upgrading/accessories) strike a nice balance between ME1's bloated, clunky inventory system and ME2's overly-streamlined system.

5) The multiplayer is amazing

6) The ending was fine

7) The DLC is excellent and adds a lot to a playthrough

in some combination or all of the above, with #6 being the rarest. So, even if you disagree I hope you will no longer have your mind boggled. :)

I can't remember if I replied in this thread. In the words of Blues Traveler, "but anyway...."

BG1 (with ToSC)

BG2 (SoA)

NWN 1 (with all expansions/DLC)

DA:I

DA:O

KOTOR 1

Never played DA:2. Perhaps I will one of these days. I tried a demo once and that was enough. The combat was.....interesting to say the least.

Never played the Mass Effect games. Always wanted to, but never owned an XBox or a PS3. My PS2 was going strong and there were a ton of console RPG's to play (PS1 is still my favorite system to date).

I really like DA:I so far. I remember going through the 1 hour (or longer) intro. It had an epic feel to it and I was excited to continue. So far, things are good but seem to be slowing down. I don't think it has anything to do with this story, just the fact that many of the areas tend to be empty except for animals and respawning baddies.

" so many cutscenes"
I guess you are the kind of player Bioware is now catering to
I mean all Bioware games before DA I had lots of cutscenes even if you talked to companions or other side characters
in DA I they went Skyrim which is a shame

to OP
DA I is definitely at the bottom for me
worst Bioware game so far because it barely had the things I liked about other Bioware games (focus on story and characters)

No i'm not the latest games target Audience at all lol.

I'm all for cutscenes but ME 3 was the type of game you'd cutscene, move through a room Cutscene, move into a hallway Cutscene etc.. I just wanted to play the game but it wouldn't let me, also the areas were tiny, with say about four npcs that you could actually talk too the rest were just scenery..

Mass Effect 1 was just open world loveliness and yes i loved the MAKO... I explored every planet in Mass effect 1..

I delayed playing until I had an idea of who to avoid in game. After that, and with the inclusion of the Citadel DLC (brilliant!), it became a story I replayed many times.

Agreed ME 3 ammo drove me nuts too.

Ah well as i said subjective.

Here's my list:

  1. KOTOR (Played on Xbox, pretty much got me into Bioware games)
  2. Jade Empire (Awesome game. Loved the combat)
  3. DA:I (Metric ton of bugs, but very enjoyable)
  4. DA:O/A (Buggy, but definitely a great game)
  5. ME3 (Meh on the ending, rest was good)
  6. ME2 (I hated planet scanning and limited fuel/probes, combat was a definite step up)
  7. ME1 (Good, but the planet terrain was horrible and tons of recycling buildings/caves)
  8. DA2 (The reigning king of map recycling, at least the companions were awesome)

It didn't help that half the cutscenes made Shep go totally out of character (at least the character that, up until then, I had shaped for her) and act like a complete retard...

I'm assuming a lot of PC gamers are in this thread since you can't mod console games. Having said that here is my opinion:

ME 1

DA:I

DA:0

ME 2

ME3 (even though the ending sucked)

SWTOR

Knights of the Old Republic

DA 2 (this was a terrible game IMO)

Overall Inquisition is at the bottom due to the myriad of changes they've made since origins. Simplified tactics menu, useless tactical cam, restricted to one spec, crappy armor design, MMO style material gathering, god awful side quests, still no killing blows, ect. The game has some cool moments, but way too much down time in between them. Also the presence of Morrigan without the HoF to watch her back was kind of a wtf moment for me ( if you romanced her in origins ). Aside from the aforementioned the game is pretty good lol.

1.  Dragon age Origins ( Awakening and all DLC )

2.  Mass Effect 3

3.  Mass Effect 2

4.  Mass Effect 1

5.  Dragon Age 2 ( w/DLC )

6.  Kotor 1 & 2

7.  Swtor

8.  Dragon Age: Inquisition

Long time fan of Bioware:

1. BGII - just wow, especially for when it came out

2. ME 1- graphics were a little wonky and the inventory system was bad, but the story and general game play were great

3. ME 3- I really like this game. I liked the ending And the combat was well designed. The DLC was some of the best ever released and the multiplayer was a time sucking blast.

4. DAO-

4. DAI- Both Origins and Inquisition are a lot of fun and I really enjoy the story and game play in both games.

6. BG1- very enjoyable game and a ground breaker when it was released

7. NWN- fun, but I really didn't like the graphics and the prime story was weak. However, the additional games really improved the story and some of the AI frustrations. Adding in the mods, made it a much more enjoyable experience

8. ME 2- I didn't like the Shep goes from galaxy hero to galaxy villain twist. The thermal clip experience wasn't fun and distracted from the game. Missions were too short as well. Some of the crew were too cookie cutter (ahm Miranda).

9. DA 2- where do I start with this mess of a game. Any fantasy RPG where you are limited to one race automatically gets downgraded on my part. Then add in the repeated areas, exceptionally linear story and eh, it was a fail to me. Only completed it once.

DA:I is a really strange game for me to rate.

So much wrong with, starting from the main plot line and it's zero dimensional 'super-satan' main villain. Then there are  about zillion silly gameplay faults.Yet I really like it! Don't really know why. Despite all of its warts, I just keep replaying it.

1.DA:O

2. ME3

3.Jade Empire

4. ME1

5. ME2

6.KOTOR

7.DA:I

Rest of Bioware games don't really care about
